7 pts between 10th and 3rd place with about 8-9 games left per team!:shocked::shocked::shocked::shocked::shocked:

Well, the 7 point difference between 10th and 3rd only apply to the Northwest division. Us Pacific teams wouldn't reach third since Dallas has 99 points on the year. The best the Sharks/Kings/Ducks can hope for is 5th.
lol yeah I realized that. It would have sufficed to simply post the conference standings, they speak for themselves!

Go Oil...

big game against LA tonight. Avery better behave, or big George will actually have to fight, and you don't want him coming out of retirement.

Another start for Roli...

C'mon Avery. Let's see some more push ups! 🙂

Go Kings Go! 😉

I hope the Sharks' special team shows up to play tonight against the Coyotes. Only 2 points behind the 'nucks for the 8th spot with 2 games in hand!

OMG another Caps fan. WTF... 2 in 1 forum ? Someone pinch me.

Yea, Up here in PA helping the Bears into the playoffs........ Been to almost every home game this year. I have never been into sports before this season, something about hockey....

Sharks have played 2 periods out of the last 6. The Thornton/Cheechoo line has also produced zero points in the last 2 games. Great time for a slump. 🙁

Man the Kings didn't even show up last night, who knows what's gotten into that team?

Oh well, thanks for the 2 pts.

The "games in hand" situation is going to be scary as you mentioned John...

Still time for a lot to go right for some teams and terribly wrong for others!

GO OILERS!!!

Steve Yzerman got goal #691 tonight breaking a tie with Mario Lemieux for sole possession of eighth place on the NHL's all-time list. It was also his 1,750th point of his career.

Way to go Stevie!!!! Only 4 more to pass, 3 to tie, Mark Messier for seventh all-time. Lets go for 9 more goals Yzerman to get to the 700 goal club.

Damn straight Latino666... nice to see someone in here giving Stevie Y some props. He's still amazing, and has been on a tear as of late.

Huet's performance for the Habs has been incredible... how lucky is Montreal (and Ottawa with Emery for that matter) for the tending they have got from those two young stars!! Great stuff.

I have no idea how the Oilers are 3 pts up. The Sharks haven't been winning as much, but they have those games in hand and it's hell on my nerves.

Good luck to everyone once again for this last stretch drive. GO OILERS

w00t Oilers 8)

Looks like Darcy Tucker could be facing a hearing.

I missed who he hit, but I heard the complaint. Kneeing and a headshot, doesn't sound good.

Also, yeah for the Sens 6 - 4 win.

Good job on the route today for the Oil. My boys finally won one tonight. It took a PP on the OT to win it, but hey, at least Thornton registered a goal tonight. He hasn't put up a point in over a week. We still got 3 games in hand over the Oil and 2 in hand over the Canucks so we're still very much alive in this race. 🙂

BTW, I missed that Tucker incident and nhl.com doesn't seem to have the highlights up. Did anyone cap it?

Tucker is not getting a suspension. I don't know who's the bigger joke, Tucker because of the type of player he is or the league disciplinarian.

Sigh... I guess a poster on TSN.ca had it right on when he said, "Well there's a shocker. The league disciplinarian - in Toronto - doesn't suspend the Toronto player. Surprise surprise."

Tucker IS a cheapshot artist, I agree wholeheartedly. Much like Avery, who is also a tool, some say their games could be improved if they laid back on the rough stuff and BS after the whistle. Herein lies the conundrum... because their coaches like them for the very reason that everyone else hates them. I still find it amazing that Tucker scored 30+ goals this year though. He's the only Leaf I truly hate, but anyone that scores over 20 goals in this league has serious talent. sucks.

At least Kovalev pasted him with that elbow. That was sweet, sweet retribution. And yes I do think it was a beautifully executed play by Kovalev.

John: I'm well aware of those Sharks 😛 I think I pay more attention to the teams the Oilers are chasing / being chased by than the Oilers themselves. It's kind of routine for an Oil fan at this time of year 😉
