What satellite setup do you have Aquaman? Starchoice is great for the hockey factor... you get all 4 Sportsnets + TSN and OLN.

Anyhoo, man the Canucks whipped the crap out of my boys. The exact reason you didn't like the 'Nucks chances (5-0) is the exact reason I knew they would get the win. :)

Oilers had a parade to the penalty box, and every penalty was well deserved. Frankly I thought they played like hacks, except for Roloson who made several key saves early or it would have been 4-0 after 10 minutes.

The Three Brothers line is great. I can't imagine trying to defend against the Sedin twins... that has got to be awfully confusing when they are cycling the puck like they do so well. Carter seems to be the leader of that line though... Oiler castoff! :p

Well... best of luck Thursday... the Oil will hopefully throw everything including the kitchen sink @ Auldy... man he played well. Like I said if Auldy and the first line show up for the rest of the season, I think the 'Nucks can take the division title. I'm sure the rest of the division enjoys seeing us cannibalize each other for this 3-gamer though!

Leafs and Habs... Thursday and Saturday as well... pretty much the same scenario. Hot damn I love this time of the season... but I hate it at the same time!! ARGH!

GO OIL!

Yep, this time of the season is great. Only 4 points seperates teams from 5th through 10th in the west. We may see a big shift soon. Who knows. Maybe the Sharks and Canucks will roll up to 5th and 6th and Colorado can miss the playoffs altogether. One can only hope. :)

I have Shaw Digital............ but in my market............ this game is on PPV :(

I think it's going to be an excellent game Thursday. The Oilers will be really up for it this game I think. I just hope the Canucks show up again.

Wow that was a terrible game from the Sharks...terrible. So bad that Legace said this after the game:

"I just had to stand there, basically," said Legace. "I made a couple of tough saves when it was 3-0 and 4-0. I really didn't have to do much."

Well I ordered the game............. I was on pins and needles when Carter gave up the 3-2 goal. At least the Oilers got the extra point. I'd like to see the Canucks & Oilers get in the playoffs this year :)

2 down......... 1 to go.

I'm not really a fan, but I'm curious - how has the league rebounded from the lost season last year? Attendance down or up? TV ratings? National interest? Just from a casual sports fan's perspective, the NHL really seems to have slipped below the sports radar. Oddly enough, the sport seems to have grown tremendously on the grassroots level, at least locally. Two of my brothers now play in adult leagues, and one of them is a ref for various rec leagues, and he's busy all the time doing that. The local rink is open 20 hours a day just to accommodate the demand for ice time. The rink didn't even exist when I was growing up around here, and now it's here, and packed, and it's the same for the rinks in surrounding counties.

A couple days late ... but I can't believe the the Avs lost to the Ducks like that. Just fell apart. I enjoyed watching the game though, really a win win for me, sorta. The ducks are the affiliates of my home team (AHL Portland Pirates) which are doing very well this season. I was able to watch Corry Perry and Ryan Getlaf, two guys I got to watch many times in real life all up close. Very cool. But anyways I wanted the Ducks to lose so they don't make the playoffs and those good people get sent back down to the AHL where my home home team can kick asss!!! :D

And I have always like the Avs since they first moved there

I believe overall attendance is up, it was at least at the start of the season, I haven't heard any figures recently. I do know attendance for my team, the Thrashers, is up from '03-'04 I believe, and it's only getting better because we are in the thick of the race to the playoffs for the first time in our history. (Amazing game last night... GO THRASHERS!!!) I don't think the US TV ratings have been all that good just simply because it's only really on OLN 2 days a week or so, and the OLN broadcasts suck. I'm not really sure about overall national interest either, but the hardcore fans haven't left the game, at least in my area, and the casual fans are still going to games regularly. I don't think the lockout hurt the NHL as much as people thought it would. If we could only get it on a decent national TV network on a more regular basis, it would be a lot better.

Hopefully we will have an exciting Stanley Cup final, because games 3-7 will be on NBC as far as I know, and that would help the league in the long run, at least in the US.

Hmm...Joe Thornton is first in the league in assists and Cheechoo is 4th in the league in goals. Thornton line > Sedin/Carter line :p

We'll see. It'll be a well rounded matchup for both back to back games. ;)

My thoughts exactly... the more Canadian teams, the better! If somehow, mathematically, the Leafs and Habs could both make it in, that would be great... obviously the odds of that happening are pretty astronomical.

Man, the Canucks shooters in the shootout were great... every guy knew exactly what he was going to do. Not like Hemsky, who kind of just whipped a shot wide  He's got great talent, but sometimes I forget he's only 22.

Great series so far... looking for the full enchilada of 2 pts Saturday though!! :)

Go Oil
