Montreal Canadiens legend Bernard (Boom Boom) Geoffrion passes away
Very sad, considering his jersey is to be retired tonight at the Bell Centre in Montreal.

He hadn't been doing well as of late, and I think they wanted to get the jersey into the rafters before he passed on. It was already conceded that he would not be attending the ceremony due to illness.

Many consider Boom Boom to be the guy that invented the slapshot.

Sad night for the Oilers too, blowing two 2-goal leads and letting an important point slip away in OT.

That has to be one of the worst game-winners I've ever seen.

I'm not so sure I would start Roloson tonight, even though he is playing against his old team. He has looked a little shaky in his first two starts with the Oil.

Samsonov looked pretty good, although I'm interested in seeing him play some even-strength as both of his points were on the PP. He took Horcoff's spot on the first PP unit, which is really not cool in my opinion, but we'll see how things unfold.

...

a pretty good game offensively for the Oilers but just not enough defensively as they drop their 3rd straight.

Anaheim is currently up 3-2 on Pheonix. If they win, they are tied for 8th in the West. :(

:sigh:

Anaheim scored about a million goals in the 3rd and won 5-2.

DaTT: best of luck to the Leafies...

Well, TB beat the Habs....not the outcome I wanted. Hopefully my leafs can take our Boston tomorrow (got my proline ticket a day early). Sure would be nice to see all the Canadian teams in the playoffs.

Tuff schedule for Toronto theses next couple of games.....(Boston excluded....hopefully)

Sharks win!

Joe Thornton with 3 assists moves in front of Jagr for the league lead in points! :)

Jonathan Cheechoo with his 4th hat trick moves to 4th in the league in scoring! :)

Aquaman, Aquaman, Aquaman. What's going on with your boys? The Sedin/Carter line is hot, but the rest of your team is ice cold!

Sharks win yet again! :)

2 goals, 1 assist from Tom Pressing, 2 goals from Steve Bernier, 2 assists from Joe Thornton, and Cheechoo with his 41st goal.

Go Sharks Go! We're on a roll! :)

Can't wait for the playoffs.

Yeah, but they have possibly their toughest 4-game stretch of the season coming up. Saturday @ Ottawa, Monday @ Atlanta, Wednesday vs Carolina, Friday vs Ottawa.

Fortunately, I'll be in NY for the upcoming week (spring break) and I'll be able to watch all four of those games. Go Sabres!

Well well... how quickly things can change in the West.

What a great game last night in Edmonton. Basically the Flames whipped the sh1t out of my Oilers but due to a couple lucky breaks and Iggy (seemingly) taking a night off, we got 2 more pts.

All of the Oiler's deadline acquisitions are performing admirably... Roloson was great, Samsonov set up the winning goal thanks to both Flames D wiping out on Pronger's broken stick, and Spacek scored again. Pronger and Spacek are looking like a couple of TOWERS on the blueline for the Oilers. If this team keeps clicking everyone else can look the hell out.

GO OILERS!
