I had no idea the Blues were on a 13-game slide.

Leave it to the Oil to give them that win.

I'm not liking the look of things at all. Wings, Ducks and Avs left. Great, just great. :(

PLEASE SHOW UP TUESDAY NIGHT!!!!!!! AND QUIT TAKING GAY PENALTIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Looks like Aquaman and I will be the ones celebrating at the end of the week afterall ;)

All jokes aside, I hope you guys get it together. I always hate to see such a good team not make the playoffs. You are in arguably the toughest division in the entire league.

Not so fast grasshopper............. my Canucks gave a game back to the oilers :( ...... lets hope the Avs are the ones looking on the outside ;)

Cheers,
Aquaman

Hehe. I'll be down with that too. We're currently in 6th and that means we have a shot at facing Kipper and the Flames in the first round. I'd hate for that to happen. I'm hoping for either a 5th (Nashville) or a 7th (Dallas) finish.

Bring it on tomorrow and Thursday, Aquaman! I'll be at the Shark Tank on Thursday rooting on my boys. Hopefully Bertuzzi and Naslund will remember to bring their game with them! ;)

The Flyers won tonight, which is obviously very important - if they win the four remaining games in the NHL regular season, they will have home ice advantage.

The New Jersey Devils (booo!!!) won their 8th straight tonight, so they now clinched a playoff berth. The Senators are back ontop in the Eastern conference. Whatever.

As always, GO FLYERS! :D

The Avs win again. Theodore's first start! I do agree that the northwest is the toughest in the NHL. There is no crappy team to just steal points from, they are all good!

Yep. Even the Pacific isn't a joke. It's tough to play Dallas and Anaheim 8 times in one year. Not to downplay Detroit's team since they are amazing and Nashville, but they have it easy having to play Columbus, Chicago, and St. Louis 8 times in a season.

Ready for tonight and tomorrow night, Aquaman? ;)
Orcas shall feast on SHark tonight :)

Too bad it's on PPV for me :(

Cheers,
Aquaman

Yeah I'll miss the game too since I have to help my fiancee with some wedding stuff tonight. We'll be at the tank tomorrow to watch it live though. Can't get any better than that! :)

1 win for the Sharks to clinch. They'll do it while feasting on orca meat tonight! :)

Hey, I figure the D just has to shut down the Sedin x2/Carter line, right? ;)

You wish. Theadore made a good showing for starting his first game in months last night, and will only get better when we're in the playoffs.

The questions isn't whether the Avs are going to be in the playoffs, but rather if we will be 6th 7th or 8th. We could even win the division if Calgary loses the last three games.

GO AVS!!!!!!!!!

True the Stars have been good all season. The Ducks came up out of the middle of the pack, at least if my memory is serving me correctly. Weren?t they in the upper teens (17-19) for much of the season and since the Olympics/trade deadline have been on fire!

I'm going to bet that the West will win the cup, I have no idea who it will be who plays, but I'm putting it out there: That whoever survives the western conference playoffs will win the cup.

Not saying the teams in the East are weak or anything I just think that the West has had it tougher the whole time and will use this extra experience/practice to win.

Yeah, I think the West will win also. Even the Sharks went 9-1 this season against the West and that was during the dark time of the season when they were struggling. As much as I'd like to see the Sharks go all the way, realistically, I predict that Calgary will take it. Kipprusoff is just that good in net. Combine him and the amazing defense that the Flames has and that's a combination to win the cup. In the East, I predict it will probably be Ottawa or NY Rangers. Ottawa has amazing defense and NYR has Jagr and the Czechs and Henrik Lundqvist in goal so that will be interesting to watch.

How do you think they'll do in the post season? You think The Dominator will be back?

BTW it should be Hart, not Heart in your sig. I don't think Afredsson will be a candidate though. ;)

Crap, I went the whole season and didn't even notice that. :D, I think they will do fine. I am hoping for the cup but I think it all depends who gets paired with who in the west, mainly how easy of a ride Detroit gets.

I think the Hart should be for the player who would be judged most vaulable to his team, and also based on team sucess. And if you see how well the Sens did without him in early January I think it's hard to argue he isn't as vaulable to the Senators and Jagr is to the NYR.

Detroit won't have an easy ride. The way it is now they will play the Oilers in the first round and they beat Detroit a few times this season. I just hope Datsyuk and Zetty show up this playoff year.

As for Calgary winning it all they are going to have a hard time if nobody but Iginla scores.

I always like to think that the D and goalie wins games. Calgary has the least amount of goals scored against in the NHL. They tend to win games 2-1 or 3-2. They're not a team that relies on offense to get the job done.

An Edmonton Oilers fan, a Colorado Avalanche fan, a Calgary Flames
Fan, and a Vancouver Canucks fan climbed to the top of Mount Everest.
They looked over the edge in wonder. Then the Oilers fan shouts, "This
Is for the Oilers!" and jumps off the cliff. Well, the Colorado fan,
Not wanting to be outdone, shouts, "This is for the Avalanche!" and
Jumps to his death.

Seeing the trend, the Canuck fan looks around for a moment. Then he
Walks behind the Flames fan, gives him a big shove off the mountain
And yells, "This is for hockey fans everywhere!"

Cheers,
Aquaman ;)

Oh yeah, I was going to mention this last night. How is it that Toronto is the only team where the captain scores 4 goals and has 2 assists, yet they still need to go into OT to win? :p

It's clear that Toronto despite their attemps to brain wash the country and impress fans with their rosters full of ailing stars do not know how to score and are not going to make the play-offs this year. Getting beat out hugely by Buffalo in the north east (not to mention Ottawa and Montreal) has got to be one of the most humiliating things that could happen to a nor east team.
