sorry buddy! at least it was a great game, from what I saw. Had to leave after the 1st to go play some Friday night pickup ;)

Unfortunately it doesn't get any easier tonight as the Sharks slide into Calgary. They're playing some inspired hockey right now... Iginla is such a great leader. Did anyone catch that tussle between him and Jackman? Don't mess with Jarome! :Q

Yeah that Hemsky goal was pretty sweet...

Aquaman, what a comeback by the Canucks... you must have been loving that one! :)

those are simply amazing seats! the best I've ever had was 14 rows back @ the Joe Louis arena for a Wings game against the Kings a few years ago. There's really no bad seats there though, which is why I'm so geeked to see my Oilers April 11th even though we're in the upper bowl! :D

Scored 2 tix for $120 CDN shipped... anyone that knows anything about Wings tix knows that it's a pretty good deal!!

Oh yeah, those are sweet. We watched some college hockey in one of the boxes @ the Joe a few years back. Watched my wife's cousin score a couple goals against Michigan when he was playing for Nebraska-Omaha... that is some great hockey!

One of the great things about watching from up there is that you can really see the plays unfold and almost see the plays happening before they happen. It's like watching Xs and Os play :p

Well, the Sabres won their first of FIVE games this month against Boston. On the not so bright side, they were outplayed two periods and Biron had to make 20 saves in the third period alone.

To follow that up, Buffalo topped Boston again and are 5-0 on the season against the Bruins.

Arrgghh Sharks suck in OT and the shootout. We lost (again) to those pesky Ducks in OT.

Alex vs Sid round 4 tonight! :)
I hadn't even realized they were playing the Pens. AO is on a 6-game goal-scoring streak and as far as I can recall, Crosby has 1 assist in his last 3 games.

But the real story is... will the Penguin vets (Recchi/LeClair/Gonchar) step up against the Capitals AGAIN. :|

Meltdown, how do you feel about the Oil giving up the first round pick for Dwayne Roloson?

(disclaimer: I know I'm not meltdown)

I think Edmonton paid way too much. 1st rounder AND a conditional pick for an aging goalie who hasn't played well in the new NHL going 6-17 with a 3.00GAA.

On the bright side, hopefully this'll drive up the value of Biron/Noronen for the Sabres. One of them has to go. It'll probably end up being Noronen.

Paid too much? Considering the draft pool this year is somehat weak, I think it is a good move. It's tough to follow up a draft year like last year and the prospects talent pool is showing it.

Roloson's record might not be shining this year, but his save % is sparkling. He is well respected around the league and I think he's a legit #1, or has proved that he deserves the shot at being a #1. But the most important thing is - he's an upgrade on the Oilers goaltending fiasco. When the coach doesn't have confidence in his goalies, it turns into a bullpen-type situation which was obviously (and sadly) apparent with MacT and the Oilers netminders. Lastly, if you think he is aging, consider the age of some of the other goalies that were on the market... Joseph, Belfour... I think the Oilers got the best "available" tender for the right price. The conditional pick is just that... they only have to give it up if they sign Roloson in the off-season.

I'm pretty excited about Samsonov too. You have to be excited when you're getting a player that has only been with one franchise for his entire NHL career. It just adds something special to the acquisition for both the player and the team... a rebirth, if you will. That said, I cannot believe that both Thornton and Samsonov were traded in the same season!

Go Oilers!!

Bring it on tonight Meltdown! :)

I really hope the Sharks beat the Oil. If we lose, we're 10 points behind for 8th.

You know, I have a feeling San Jose will win simply because they are so well-coached and just plain... good :)

For two tight teams like the Sharks and Oilers I always pick the 1-1 split when they play games this close together. If I were betting, I'd probably pick the Sharks tonight :p

obviously I hope my Oilers can prove me wrong!! let's go Roli the Goalie!! ;)

Well, as long as you're happy, I guess.

His SV% puts him 14th in the NHL. I wouldn't consider that sparkling.

You don't consider going on 37 aging? Sure, Hasek's still a monster, but he's also one of the best goalies ever.

That must be painful for Tampa's goalies. Buffalo scored 8 on only 23 shots. (Unfortunately, Miller didn't do too well either, allowing 5 on 40 shots)
