Uh yeah. That was a horrible call and should have been able to be called in from the booth. Almost makes that absolute mugging that Celeck had on that 3rd & goal afterwards look forgivable. The defender was literally wrapped around him for half the play before the ball was thrown.

49ers = 6 wins and 1 loss.

Wins are wins, but honestly who have they beat that's good? Detroit? Overrated but still a good win.. Everyone else pretty much blows. Seattle, Cincinnati, Tampa, Philly? All not very good. And they lost to the Cowboys who weren't very good either.

Cinci and Tampa are middle of the pack teams. They aren't automatic wins or anything. And Detroit is a solid team. Sure, they beat the Seahawks and the Eagles when they were in that slump but those are solid wins.

You can't put them in the class of NE, GB, or PIT, but they beat pretty decent teams in CIN, TB, and PHI, as well as DET. The Cowboys are a pretty decent team and the niners lost in OT.

Consider that NE lost to BUF (also a solid team) and PIT lost to Houston (solid too, but certainly not great). The list of very good teams is small.

LOL, what was the 9ers record last year, 16 and 0?

and if you look at GB, they have beat scrub teams other than ATL and NO. I'd say SF has beaten better quality of teams than GB has.

No, not at all. I kind of like the 49ers... I just think, like Detroit, once they play a good team they will get beat pretty easily. Fortunately for them though there does not appear to be a lot of really good teams out there. What is especially amazing to me is how bad some QB's are in this league.

Eagles looked pretty good tonight.

My skins were just terrible. At least my other favorite team, the niners, are doing well.

I've been musing about this myself.

I wonder if it's due to the fewer number of pocket passers that are being developed at every level. It's evidently easier to win playing the spread with an athletic, mobile QB.

In SF's defense, they have knocked off some decent teams. Detroit, Cinncy (not a household name, but have a sneaky good record), Tampa, and Philly. those are tough teams. There's only two or three teams in the NFL that I really see as "Good". Green Bay until they are beat are the top of the league. Then there's a small bubble with Pitt and NE who I think are still late season/playoff bloomers. Then you have the muddled middle with SF, Houston, Detroit, Baltimore, ATL, Giants, Chargers, Cincy, Buffalo and NO. Any one of those teams could easily come out and be in the conference championship.

Then there's just a bunch of crap with Philly at that top of that heap. :)

There's not very many juggernauts in the league this year. A lot of upsets and disappointments and other than Green Bay no real clear cut "Teams to Beat".

last part is true--and this is what makes the 49ers a particularly good team this year. They have, as has been proven, one of the most ineffective QBs in the league--but they are really good this year.

really good. You'll probably come to realize this at some point, but if you haven't actually seen them play (I'm assuming you haven't), then you just wouldn't get it. Their run game is essentially unstoppable, and the D is what it was supposed to be last year.

They have a lot of young, fresh players, and they haven't made horrible stupid mistakes. Essentially--this is an extremely well-coached, well conditioned, potent team.

I don't really care about the teams out here where I live, but watching them (because I have too, sigh...they are legit. Oakland is(was) a good team, before Campbell went down. We'll have to see if Palmer can keep the mojo going.

Which is irrelevant, since Green Bay is the defending champ and has nothing to prove about the quality of their team.

I bet you're chomping at the bit!

ass....

:(

he's licking his chop, hoping the colts are 0-16, and select Andrew Luck as their next franchise QB for the next 12 years. :0
