Colts and Texans have been bitten hard by the injury bug.

Also just read that Josh Morgan(WR for the niners) broke his leg. DAMNIT!

whoa. yeah, that looked super nasty. didn't really follow up to see what happened there.

Texans are super hosed, though.

but I also wonder about GB; after that guard Clifton went down last night, they couldn't stop a single rush. totally different team after that.

2006 AFC Championship game -- Colts down 18 to the Pats late in the first half and cut it to 15 right before half time. Manning ate the Patriots for breakfast, lunch, AND dinner in the second half while Brady handed the Colts the game with a toss right into Marlin Jackson's hands. :D

I remember that game clearly because I did a double-or-nothing on a $150 bet against my friend at halftime of that game and won it.

yep. between Boston and Duke/UNC, I can't really stand ESPN. that's pretty much all they show.

A few weeks ago I was on the ESPN RedSox board for some odd reason, and someone was bitching that if they had the payroll of the Yankees the Red Sox would have won the division instead. Talk about being out of touch!

It's a good time of year for watching Sportscenter in the morning. Baseball is pretty much done, there's no basketball now, plenty of football, hockey finally began... yep, it's good.

Valverde pitches out of a no-out bases loaded jam in the bottom of the 9th in Arlington. I would say Detroit fans breathed a sigh of relief but I'm sure they've seen a few of these highwire acts from Papa Grande before.

edit - gah posted mlb in the nfl thread. to make a relevant post i'm glad to see san diego tied for the best record in the afc, just need them to win a little more convincingly. it'll be good to get gates back for the jets

At first he did, but not as much recently. The Colts beat the Pats 4 or 5 times in a row before the Pats finally got one.

Two of the biggest chokes in recent history were on Brady teams -- SB 42 and the AFC Championship against the Colts the year before. The AFC Championship choke was particularly gratifying for me since the Pats lost an 18-point lead and then the excuses started flowing from Boston. "Bu...bu...bu...but Peyton has all the offensive talent!" Yeah? What happened the following year once the Patriots addressed their "lack" of offensive talent? That's right, SB 42!

Oh, and before the Pats fan brigade chime in, yes, you can blame the Pats offensive line or defense all you want, but you can say the exact same thing in the games Peyton lost and was branded a choker. As the Pats have recently learned, and us Colts fans have been saying FOR YEARS, you can't win without a complete team and a decent defense. I find it amusing listening to Pats fans whining about their defense and blaming that because when Colts fans did the same, we were told we were "making excuses for Manning."

I've seen chokes by both of them, Manning had difficulty initially facing a BB defense but got much better over time, Brady threw the infamous pick in Indy that sealed the deal there. As for SB 42 no QB can do much if his OL starts turnstileing DL's, you can't play the position very well lying down, not an excuse, a fact, maybe a Mike V type of QB could but certainly not Manning or Brady and at the end of the day he went down and got his team the lead with 2:30 left to play, job done, no choke, was he supposed to line up as a DB to seal that game??

Do the Bears have an offensive line? I haven't seen them play yet this year... has their protection been this bad the last 4 weeks?
