WTF happened to the vaunted Ravens defense?

I'm not a big Ravens fan, (the rivalry with the Steelers causes me grief every year) but they're USUALLY better than that.

I LIKE the Chargers, (the only California team I root for) but am not a Rivers fan...nor a fan of Norv Turner.
The Chargers played exceptionally well tonight. If only the Packers would have played as well...:|

Tomorrow night's game between the Steelers and 49ers is going to be tough for us Steelers fans. I just don't see them dominating...in fact, I think they're going to have a tough time winning. The 9ers have been too good all year, and I think they're going to give the Steelers a good whupping. Ben, if he plays at all, will be hampered by the ankle injury. There are too many injured Steelers on both offense and defense...and James "The Helmet Killer" Harrison won't be there.

It's a bad matchup for the 49ers, I like the Steelers in it. Steelers WRs are too fast for the 49ers secondary, and Ben is still good at buying time, I don't care if he's missing a leg.

Supposedly the Steelers are getting back Woodley, who was playing better than Harrison anyways, and Worilds is pretty good to replace Harrison.

49ers are also missing their starting left tackle and Patrick Willis. Alex Smith and the o-line struggle against zone blitz schemes, which will play right into the Steelers hands.

I can only hope you're right.

I'd LOVE and HATE to see a repeat of last year's Super Bowl match up...

yup.

without Willis, that rush doesn't exist.

not too worried about the secondary, but Rapistburger has a knack for making gold out of shit, especially when he's comfy.

Greenbay losing and Indy winning within about 1 minute of eachother, wild.

Ryan Grant has been very blah this season, guess he hasn't gotten over his injury?

holy shit, Chargers, where you been all year??

this is the way you were supposed to play!

:colbert:

It is their annual "Please save my job!!" push for Norval.

Besides that, the Ravens always choke this time of year. You guys didn't seriously think they'd take HFA throughout the playoffs, did you?

I got to say thanks to the ravens for that epic lost last night. This gives the Steelers everything they need to get the number one seed.

Lets talk about how over rated Green Bay is. They played 1 top 10 defense and everyone talks like they are so dominate on offense. Playing shitty defenses is only going to make you look good and when you play a real D they will get destroyed. All the good defenses are in the AFC. It is too bad because the top 4 teams in the AFC Houston Texans, Baltimore Ravens, New England Patriots, and Pittsburgh Steelers, are all better then Green Bay. I see Green bay making it to the super bowl because they don’t have to play any good defenses. Only team that might have a chance is New Orleans Saints because of how good their offence is and can match them because Green Bays d sucks.

The AFC sucks this year. The Steelers might be able to pose a challenge to Green Bay from the defensive side of the ball, but I don't think they can still score with Green Bay. New England? LOL!!!!! Rodgers would light them up all night, and Baltimore? Seriously? You guys should have discovered by now that the Ravens are the biggest big-game chokers in the NFL right now.

Houston's defense is good as long as Stay Puft the Marshmallow Coach is available. They got trounced yesterday though and their offense isn't going to be good enough to get them to the big game.

The Packers and Saints are the two best teams in football and I'm not sure that anyone else is close. Green Bay's issues now are injuries on the O-line and their continued defensive issues and the Saints may be able to exploit those in the playoffs.

Green Bay has played only 1 top 10 defense sorry but they are over rated.

The steelers are as good as ever. I would be scared if I were Green Bay since Pittsburgh finally learned how to play man coverage.

Green Bay's woes on the offensive line can be exploited by defensive teams. If KC can do it, most teams can and will. GB will still score though and it remains to be seen if other teams will be able to keep up. Also, remember "any given Sunday" -- Green Bay did have a bad game yesterday but that doesn't necessarily spell doom for them.

Yeah. The Steelers always lose a couple and rarely get it done pretty, but they're always a threat come playoffs. There isn't any team that would want to play them come January.

The Steelers are showing that they're not really up to par right now for sure.

It's unfathomable how much more dominant the Niners would be if we have a slightly more accurate QB.

Even Romo would make them into near SB favorites lol :p It's incredible that they've gotten this far with a QB like that.

Dare I saw even Tebow is better? Mehhhh, I guess I wouldn't go that far.

I will call the Patriots defense the Tim Tebow of defenses (you could alternately call Tim Tebow the "bend but don't break" of offenses). They're better than the yardage stats (where they are similar to the Packers) indicate--they're middle of the pack with points (again, very similar to the Packers) and a lot of those yards are in garbage time. What the Pats D won't do is keep the game close if the offense is struggling, as they did against the Steelers earlier in the season. As long as Tom is having a good game, though, the Pats can beat anyone.

You're right, the Packers would score a lot of points on them, but I see no reason the Pats wouldn't do the same. That game would come to a few breaks on turnovers (which both teams are really good at). Same thing goes with the Saints against either (or both) of these teams.

I think you greatly overestimate the dominance of these Packers. They're very good, and may still win the Superbowl, but they're definitely not an unbeatable juggernaut.

rush? Willis isn't a pass rusher, the rush will be about the same with or without Willis. It's the run and pass coverage that will suffer.
