I don't consider wins against the 49ers and Steelers (twice) as a definition of "choking in big games."

Losing against easily-beatable opponents is a different story.

The ravens don't choke in big games. They choke in little games.

You know, you're right -- my mistake. The Ravens are the ones that always seem to lose to pissant teams they should beat and it always seems to happen at big times in the season.

Like I said before, we won't have to play shitty teams in the playoffs...

I love going to the MNF games.. First power outage I thought was apart of the player introduction like they do in the NBA.. then the lights never came back on and the helmet was deflating.. lol.

Loved rocking the Aldon Smith jersey last night. What a beast!

Harbaugh thinks Smith is one of the top three QB's in the NFC, and should be going to the Pro Bowl. Lulz.

Rodgers & Brees...then it drops off dramatically.

Newton? Cutler? Maybe Vick & Eli......then who? Ryan? Stafford? NFC QB's blow.

Hey, if Cassel went last year...

AFC ones aren't really much better. Brady, Manning (who knows if that'll hold up), and then....Schaub? Rivers I guess, but he's been off and is not in the top tier of QBs. Roethlisberger, but he still has too many of the 0TD 3INT type of games.

Damn forgot about Romo in the NFC. Yeah I guess that conference is better overall. It's just pretty shocking how much of a dropoff there is after the top 3.

We all know Ben lost that game because he was not 100%. In hindsight they should have never played him but I understand why they did it. They felt that he was their best chance to win. And I will say that kicker for 49ers won that game for them every one of his punts were deep.

"You conveniently ignore the fact that the 49ers best WR was out as well as the best LB in football."

Yup James Harrison was sitting at home.

Ahem, what do you guys who were making the ludicrous claim of the AFC being "strong" have to say now?

Well, I don't think the Steelers are as bad as they were last night, but in my mind...it's still basically Balt or NE--and hell, maybe the Texans. I really like the Texans, but that all depends if Schaub can somehow return. though--they haven't suffered tremendously without him.

I think the problems with the NFC defense--GB and NO, has to be scheme, right? Far too much talent on a team like that for their production to be as bad as it is. And I don't care what anyone says, I'd still take Woodson over just about any currently-hot defensive scrub of the year. Thy guy has done nothing but work his fucking ass off year after year--and produce like a beast. Consistently.

As a Ravens fan, I'm very happy with last night's result.

However, my team continues to be a complete enigma. No idea which team is going to show up on any given day. I guess the good news is we don't seem to lose to really good teams (Chargers are a possible exception, based on how they finish out), just bad/mediocre ones. Those teams don't make the playoffs, haha.

Ugh, so confused.

well, the Chargers are back to being the Chargers over the last two-three weeks.

and, worse yet, for you--it's the December Chargers.

GL.

well, no, not really.

Go Chargers! :D

Rivers has been top 4-5 QB pretty much his entire pro career...until this year. :(

He's still not in the same class as Peyton, Brady, Brees, or Rodgers. He's been close and I'd say he might've even been there in 2008, but there's just something about him that you can see he just wasn't quite there. He's like the anti-Tebow, despite all the talent around him and generally consistently good play from him for years, his teams still just kinda choke. I wouldn't necessarily put that on him, but I think his attitude might be part of what has kept the team from taking the next step. Actually, his career is kinda the flip-flop of Tebow's.

like I said, top 4-5.

I honestly don't see an attitude problem with him--of course, I've been a Rivers fan since he donned the red and white and yes--he's the only reason I pull for the Chargers now.

He's a damn fine leader when everyone is working for him and he's allowed to take charge of a game. Even in this, his worst year yet, what I have seen of him--he's still played quite well for most of the games. Very obvious blunders and some inaccurate passes here and there, but he never gets rattled.

and that's what I love about good QBs. even when Rofflsburger was sucking it up last night, he still threw into double coverage in a very tight seam, and almost had a huge TD. I don't think you ever want to see a QB that doesn't try to make that throw.

Essentially the same Packers defense was top-5 in 2009 (I think it was actually top-3 statistically). The only guy I know they lost was DT Cullen Jenkins, and I don't think he's an All-Pro. Woodson isn't very good in coverage currently but he gets tough covers against beasts like Antonio Gates that he can at least run with. However, he does a lot of other things well in his current safety-like role.

My theory is that they know how great an offense they have, so they don't play to their full potential as in 2009. Instead the DBs go out and try to jump routes for INTs. Result: #31 ranked passing defense (and by far the most INTs).

Is darkswordsman17 confusing Philip Rivers w/ everybody's favorite punching bag Tony Romo?

There's no question Peyton is the best at 13-3 regular seasons and playoff flame-outs.
