That is somewhat doubtfull. Seems to be a certain household pressure against him going back to coaching.

he was the 3rd string, but TJ got put on IR, so he moved to #2 and they picked up a guy for #3

he did fine for a guy that was never allowed to take snaps, ever. and facing one of the top D's in the NFL that was in pretty good form last night.

I know how he ended up in the position...but WHY is another question. I agree that the guy TRIED...hell, he even tried to emulate Michael Vick by running almost as many plays as he threw.

Fortunately, the Vikings only have two more games to lose this season...and they're sitting poorly enough that even if Favre and the rest of the team were 100% after today, they'd still be out of contention.

Eh, last year and the year before their third string guy was John David Booty, a fifth round pick who had never (and has still never) taken a single snap in an NFL regular season game. A lot of these guys are kept around for one reason or another since the chances of needing them are low. Sometimes you've got a young player who may have potential and you want to give him a few years to train under veterans before they jump in. Sometimes, like with Webb, you've got a versatile player who's useful as more than just a QB (Webb was also a kick returner and WR in earlier games for the Vikings this year).

But with creaky old Favre in, they probably should have found a more experienced backup to Tarvaris Jackson. I bet the Vikings wish they had kept Rosenfels now.

hopefully webb starts next week, even against the eagles I expect him to get a good 15 fantasy points.

which is why i already picked him up for two of my teams as a WR 😉

oh shit, I must do this. my WR corps is abyssmal.

shit, ESPN only has him available as QB. 🙁

not replacing Rivers with this hack!

Listened to a bit of peter king this morning on the way in and got some interesting playoff tidbots.

The 4 current wildcard holders (jets, giants, saints, ravens) couldlock their spots with wins this week.

The 3 open divisions (afc south/west and nfc west) are either guranteed or extremely unprobably to not have a division winner till after the final week due to the math.

With both of the above considered, peter expects no less than 2 if not all 4 wildcard teams to be favored week 1 and expects at least 2 if not all 4 wildcard teams to win week 1.

Also a bit of deadskin details. Seems that there is some sort of payoff on the first day after the regular season for Mcnabb in the realm of 10 million $$$$$, which just may have a bit of correlation of why there will be several quarterbacks playing the remainder of the season for the skins not named mcnabb.

only qb in D1(fbs or whatever) to have back to back 2000 yrd pass 1000 yrd running seasons ever

the running was expected and I guess what they wanted 😀

Dan Connolly named AFC special teams player of the week

Packers&

I can see that I guess... though you'd think it would be DeSean Jackson for actual game changing effect.

Kudos to Connolly. No question one of the funniest/coolest things I've seen in the NFL in a LONG time.

Jackson doesn't play in the AFC.

DAMMIT! Colts WR Austin Collie is on IR. Probably a good thing to protect his health but he's a game changer for the Colts. Last sunday's game the offense looks completely different with him on the field. Without him, it's sluggish with only Wayne and Garcon as the real WR threats.

I just hope he's OK and recovers well without any lasting injury. He has all the talent, intelligence and work ethic to be one of the great receivers.

They pretty much had to place Collie on IR. They lost 2 more safeties on Sunday and are desperately trying to get roster spots so they can pick guys up.

Losing Collie is huge and might kill the Colts.

Well they've got an awesome running game with Donald Brown and Rhodes!!!

What's the thoughts on Webb from a fantasy perspective? I picked him up when I had to drop collie. I'm in desperate need of a QB. Do I put webb in QB or WR? My receivers are very strong, but Hines Ward has been spotty for me all season. I'm in finals so it could mean the game for me by losing Collie.

DeSean's play won the Eagles the game singlehandedly, but there's no way the Patriots would win that game without that return. The offense could barely move the ball, except when the Packers got caught in their nickel package against a 2-TE set from the Pats, who quickly went no-huddle.

Connolly's play was not only huge, but come on, it's a lineman nearly taking a kickoff to the house!

If webb even plays average as a full game QB, he should make enough points in the WR spot to beat about any non-exceptional true WR performance. After a little more than a half last week he pulled in almost a 10 point performance.

Collie gone.....may have to change which team I picked for that game.
