I'm probably fucked in 2 of my 3 playoff games from this. still had floyd in on one team which will probably kill my 1 lost/1st seed team and lack of competition against rivers playing techmo bowl will probably take another down.

yeah....that 8 PM sunday game is gonna suck. The pats have been lucking out. They get the Bears in the snow, now they get a non functioning Packers.

I'm no NE fan, but I don't think any rational person would doubt that they're the toughest team in the NFL at the moment. It's not like the Bears aren't supposed to be able to play in the snow, so I don't know how that's 'lucky'. Both teams had an equal shot there, but the Pats just flat out murdered them. Agreed on Packers though, that's a 4th-rate team right now.

34/7 final.

Where's Indy with his, "Meanwhile in San Francisco, Mike Singletary" speech?

Meanwhile, in San Francisco, Mike Singletary stares in utter amazement at the NFC West standings and shouts to his players: HEY! We can still win this thing!!!

I've tried to lay off Mike recently, as they have been playing slightly better. In all honestly, did anyone seriously expect the 49ers to win against the Chargers? Sure, the Chargers are erratic and lose some real head scratchers, but IIRC, Rivers has only lost 1 December game ever and they pretty much have to win out and get some help to make the playoffs.

Of course, you could say the same thing for the 49ers. They might stink but are only 2 out of first place in the west. They've split with Seattle and currently have the tiebreaker over the Rams, though they do play next week. If SF beats them, they'll be one down with tiebreakers over the Rams. Seattle? Well, it doesn't matter -- they play Atlanta, Tampa, and St. Louis the next 3 weeks and I won't be surprised if they lose all 3.

Damn... lots of good games this weekend...

Steelers/Jets
Jags/Colts
Eagles/Giants
Ravens/Saints
Packers/Patriots

All of them have big playoff implications. The playoff picture should start to clear up after this weekend I think...

The bears are bitching about playing in cold temps, on an unheated field...

I pulled up my local news to read it today and the top story was regarding players losing their helmets more frequently:

http://www.indystar.com/article/201...ssey=tab|topnews|textv|IndyStar.com|default|p

Yeah. I've been wanting to make a post about it for weeks now (too lazy though). But then last night, I forget what Charger it was, ran 60yrs on the kKO return and got clocked without his helmet on. Looked like stitches on the sideline too?

Its not just viscous hits that are doing it though. It just "happens" a ton all over the place. I have not noticed it as much on college though (admittedly I do not get to watch as much on Saturdays).

They are going to have to do something though I think. I did NOT know the rule exists though that if a WRD or RB loses their helmet, the play is stopped. I see the logic there, but really what about CB, safeties etc. Though I guess they aren't the ones going to get hit, they are the ones LOOKING to get hit, and if they decide to hit somebody helmet-less, that's their choice.

Every cold weather field is heated to some extent. Lambeau has been heated since the 60's I think. If it isn't heated it's like playing on concrete.

Just thinking back on the season and there seems to be a consistent thread to the Pack's position this year. And fingers may point to either the O-line or the lack of a running game, but Special Teams play this year has sucked. Also, we could probably be ahead in the division if it wasn't for one guy;
Mason Crosby - gone at the end of the season?
He's inconsistent inside the 30 these days. He could have won a couple of games for us.
I long for the days of Ryan Longwell.

Misses a game winner against Washington, misses a 29yd against San Fran. Can't seem to hit inside the 30 these days.

yeah man... I just don't know. I HATE gambling and messing with kickers (unless they show complete ineptitude). Crosby has been about average all other times it seems, but the Washington one.... ugh.
