Wow. That was a pretty nice way to ice things. 19 point lead and less than 10 minutes left in the 4th. I don't think a comeback from something like that happens but once a decade, so stick a fork in em 🙂

Honestly thought that the Pats were going to get rolled tonight. Can only hope they play as well next week at home against the Colts.

Looks like the game got interesting in the 4th quarter. I got bored watching the Steelers getting their asses kicked...and changed the channel. I was VERY surprised to see they managed to make something of a showing tonight...even if they still lost by 2 possessions.

No, it didn't, you didn't miss anything. The Pats D just got lazy because it was pretty much over and allowed Roflburger to pat his stats. They even tried a failed offside.

Big Ben had 90 yards after 3Q, 360 yards after the game. Talk about padding his stats in the garbage time 🙄

Funniest thing of the night was shittsburgh trying the onside kicks instead of standing behind that vaunted defense. 😀

I would be shocked if the Pats don't win. The Colts looked awful against the Bungles yesterday. They just have too many injuries on offense and their timing is obviously off.

I'm as surprised as anyone that the Patriots dominated the Steelers last night and i'm even more surprised how similar this game is to the 2004 AFC Championship game.

Brady 2004: 66.7%, 9.86 YPA, 2 TD, 0 INT, 130.5 rating
Brady 2010: 69.8%, 8.14 YPA, 3 TD, 0 INT, 117.4 rating

Rodney Harrison picked off Big Ben for a pick six in 2004.

James Sanders picked off Big Ben for a pick six in 2010.

The Steelers mounted a courageous comeback in 2004: 24 pts in the second half.

The Steelers mounted a courageous comeback in 2010: 26 pts in the second half.

In both games, it was too little too late.

2004 final score: NE 41 - Pitt 27

2010 final score: NE 39 - Pitt 26

I guess this game really speaks about this season quite a bit: The Steelers, statistically, were the far superior team, yet they got demolished by the Patriots in nearly all facets of the game. And, while many people are going to blame their offensive line injuries for the pressure on Big Ben, watch the tape. The Patriots tried numerous times to overload the left side of the line and failed. 3 of their sacks came from pressure on the right side (uninjured starters)... the Mike Wright sack came on a stunted blitz to the left.

Obviously, the Steelers have some key injuries on both sides of the ball and maybe now we're going to see other teams exploit that, but, going into this game, they were the best team in the AFC and they got absolutely owned in all parts of the game.

My only real question for the Patriots coaching staff is why their defense goes into prevent mode so early, so often. Once those safeties (who played out of their minds last night) started giving the Steelers that 15-22 yard cushion, the Steelers' passing attack came alive.

Anyway, it was a pretty entertaining game... Just wow on how poorly the Steelers played.

edit: Forgot to add that this game is the worst beat-down the Steelers have suffered in the regular season @ Heinz field. Their 2004 loss to the Patriots was the worst beat-down they've ever suffered at Heinz.

Just something I saw...

Browns beat Pats because Browns adjusted to the Pats and beat the Pats at their own chess game type strategy.

Pats beat Steelers because Steelers did not adjust their offense at all. On defense, they got picked apart because they did not hide anything from Brady. On offense, you could see Ward's absence really took a toll. As it has been said, when you let Brady know whats coming, he will pick you apart.

I forsee a huge choke job in the steelers future. Last year we started 6-2, and then lost 5 straight games to the likes of oakland, KC, and cleveland.

That is how the Pat's D always played. If you have a huge lead, let them bring the ball down field and make mistakes. They tried having these rookies play man, and they just get burned. If they do not get burned, they will probably get pass interference. They just them check it down the field and the clock wind down.

What surprised me about this game was the Pat's pass rush. I didn't think they had a good one even against an injured o line.

This week it seemed Giants were playing like the Jets of last 2 weeks, giving up the ball when in scoring position.

They are, but I still think Manning can pick apart the Pats D. They are too inexperienced.

Agreed. Next week is going to be a shootout. The Colts can't stop the run. The Patriots are going to try to control the clock, manage the game, and keep Manning off the field. Manning is going to perform surgery with a chainsaw on the Pats secondary. That is a double-edge sword though. Freeney and Mathis have already had woes on the road (granted, Foxborough is turf) and combine that with short strikes by Manning and long drives by Brady and the Law Firm and I think they're going to tire in the second half.

All in all, this game should be one of the most exciting of the year. It's also going to be close. Really close.

If the Pats come out and play with the focus, determination, and hard hits they did against the Steelers, I think they'll eek out a win either with a game-winning two minute drive or with an epic stop of Manning attempting the same thing.

Side note: if Chung can't go, I don't like New England's chances. He's been unbelievable this year when he's played.

How much is JJ kicking himself for keeping Philips around? The Cowboys looked focused and ready to play this week, something that could have made them at least playoff contenders if they had the same attitude starting in week 1.

The Colts need receivers for manning to pick apart the secondary. They've had to pull people from the practice squad (James) because Collie, Gonzalez, White are injured. They even had to line up Tamme in the WR position a few times instead of normal TE.

You could see it in yesterday's game. The routes and timing are all off because of the noobies.

Collie should be back next sunday so that will help. But injuries are really killing the Colts and they're trying to limp by. Get some of the guys healthy and they'll be back to strength, for now the defense is trying to win the games for them and that's what happened yesterday.
