yeah low level tear aka a sprain.

he shoulda stayed in, torn it bad, andmissed the whole offseason training camp and part of next year, probably just to toss a pick 6.

woulda been totally worth it 🙄
 
I don't know if you can play on a sprained MCL so no comment on that. I think Cutler is plenty tough, but the problem is perception.

1. Cutler never made/makes an effort to be liked. He walks around mopey or arrogant all the time. He could have tried to be more open and outgoing to the media and public as it would buy him a lot of grace now.
2. If the docs said he couldn't go back in, he could have at least shown some fire on the sideline for his team, help his young QBs, get people fired up...something! He just moped around and rode his bike with a cape on. Reminiscient of LT.
3. Cutler is who we thought who was and we let him off the hook! - j/k on that one

You can't really play effectively on a sprained MCL as a mobile QB. You can walk kind of normally, even run, but try to make a cut and it's over. The way the turnstile offensive line was going, the Bears needed a QB with mobility like Ben to avoid the constant pressure. Rivers is a more pocket passer.

Cutler was missing wide-open targets all the time in the first half. They could have just pulled him for ineffectiveness and used the backup to give them the best chance to win that particular game.

The big story should have been why Hanie, the more mobile QB, wasn't #2 on the depth chart over an old, struggling Collins. That and the terrible 3rd and 3 call with the end around.

Actually, if you followed the post-game interview, Hanie said he was disappointed that the TV pretty much focused on the 5 second clips where Cutler was sitting around. In actuality, Hanie said that Cutler was helping him out and talking to him and encouraging him on every series. Goes to show you what a hatchet job the media can do if they want to.

Cutler is aloof and doesn't smile and throws way too many INTs from bad decisions but his physical toughness shouldn't have been an issue, especially after absorbing 50+ sacks during the season. And lol at Deion Sanders talking about toughness after Sanders was notorious for avoiding hits. Or MJD who sat out the final 2 crucial games with a bum knee.

From what I've read, it was because of Martz. He pleaded for a "veteran" QB as a backup...so the best they could do was Collins. Hell I'd rather have 50 year old Jeff Garcia than Collins. I guess it was Martz that was sour on Haine and had the human walking stick in Collins under center on the 2nd team.
 
Heard that the jets helmet coms went down in the fourth quarter which was why you kept seeing sanchez head to the sideline after most plays after the safety punt. Very convenient timing it seems.

Why can losing teams just not accept that they got BEAT. Not that they lost the game, or the refs blew it, or there was equipment malfunctions, but that they got BEAT by the other team on that given day.

Look, if you replay the game a 100 times, do the Steelers win every single time? Do the Packers win every single time? No. But they won THAT time, the time that mattered. And that's all that matters.

There's a million ifs in life, and a BILLION in sports. You gotta learn to live with it.

I'll have to remember that one next time. Seriously, I don't think you've seen an excuse that didn't conveniently work for the Jets.
 
It was irritating to hear the commentators say ' Oh look Cutler is finally smiling, whenever the Bears did something good'
 
That pic floating around all day with Favre at the Chicago Bears Podium. I think he and Martz would make a great couple. Would almost assure the Packers 2 extra wins in the division if that happens.
 
I'm kind of tired of the Cutler talk. Everyone piled on him mainly because he's not Manning, Brady, Rivers, etc. The guy is tough and anyone who thinks otherwise quite frankly is an idiot. Now, one can definitely judge his sideline demeanor if they want but that is his persona, his 'brand' if you will', and like it or not has nothing to do with whether he was hurt or not. It's like saying Tim Duncan isn't a competitor because he shows emotion about as often as Halley's comet flys overhead.

To be honest I get more of a kick out of hearing wusses like Deion Sanders talk trash about Cutler. When did Deion ever try to actually tackle someone? What a wuss.

Yeah, the steelers must have found a way to disable those battery operated wireless headsets that are owned by the Jets.
