Point is, it's never proper. In this game it went both ways. I'd say a 60/40 argument could be made it's Tate's ball (just because the DB gets leverage on the ground to twist his back to gain control of the ball, doesn't mean the TD hasn't already happened). The game overall was poorly officiated, and both teams had to deal with it.

With that said, another point I make is Seattle fans should feel no shame in walking away with a game where they got the break from officials. Again--we are the reason there is instant replay (Vinnie getting an extra inch on his helmet a decade ago). We are the only team I know of to get an apology from a Superbowl officiating chief for screwing up the game.

And after instant replay, they still couldn't call it correctly. And no Tate, did not make a reception.

Take the home team glasses off lol 60/40? Serious? more like 99.999/00.001

All commentaters. All players not on the seahawks. All OFFICIALS (real ones) watching this AGREE it was a INT.

So its a 100/0. No fraction there. They EVEN quoted the damn rulebook, and proved how it was an INT after the game.

RULE 3, SECTION 8, ARTICLE 5.

WAS NOT A SIMULTANIOUS CATCH.

Pause when Tate's feet hit the ground with his hands on the football. That is all that matters, not the twisting that happens after. I agree Tate's arms are further extended but he's grabbing the ball.

Yep, and Tate doesn't have possession of the ball.

For all of you bitching about some imaginary blown replay call, THIS.
Except Tate didn't have possession, they should have called it an incomplete then. No TD.

I don't disagree. But the point mugs made, which a true NFL ref said on the post-game show, is that once a call about possession has been made, which there was, no replay can occur.

Multiple peeps here were saying they couldn't believe the call was upheld on replay. Watch my lips: There was no replay!

From my view...

They jumped up...the DB had the ball against his body, landed...had the ball on his chest with two arms and Tate had an arm on it...then somehow pulled more of it to him...after they were laying on the ground.

To me (and I am not an official and don't know all the rules) say that is an interception.

Yeah there was, ALL SCORING PLAYS ARE REVIEWED.

At the end, remember that stuttering refs saying "AFTER FURFURTHER REREREREVIEW, the ruling on the field stands..."

All touchdowns are reviewed now.

There was doubt about possession how ... I don't know but one ref waved it off and another one said TD. Review that crap and overturn it. This is a complete joke.

I believe the catch is they can't rule on if it was an interception or not...just that if it was or was not a catch...correct me if I am wrong.

THIS. They couldn't review for this, according to the NFL ref on the post game.
