I believe the catch is they can't rule on if it was an interception or not...just that if it was or was not a catch...correct me if I am wrong.
If that's the rule, then everybody will throw hail marry and stick a finger on the ball. TOUCH DOWN!!! No, seriously. They done goofed.

yeah...

After tonight, Goodell should give the real officials whatever they want. Or call this the preseason.

Starting now I am asterisking each game that was directly influenced by bad calls to allow one team to win. If the playoff picture is changed because of this. I will email my report with the demand of an asterisk to the season in all and any record books.

THIS. They couldn't review for this, according to the NFL ref on the post game.

Except I think all scores are reviewed. I don't think they could have overturned the call, but it was still reviewable because all scores in the 4th are reviewed.

They reviewed it, but they couldn't review it on the one thing that mattered, who had possession.

To me that is a stupid rule in the part of replay then...

Why not be able to scrutinize shitty calls in the heat of the moment...what is the point if you can't fix a wrong...

If that's the rule, they should have called it an incomplete then, like I mentioned earlier.

How can it be incomplete when it never touched the ground....someone obviously caught it. Simultaneous possession goes to the offense but Jennings had possession so it wasn't simultaneous possession. Hands on the ball by Tate doesn't really mean he had possession. And it doesn't even matter, it was a blatant offensive pass interference so who caught the ball or not shouldn't even be the issue really.

The best fucking part is that there was no reason for it to be called a TD. The ref who had the clear view of the play called it an interception, while the other ref called it a TD.

I don't disagree. But the point mugs made, which a true NFL ref said on the post-game show, is that once a call about possession has been made, which there was, no replay can occur.

Multiple peeps here were saying they couldn't believe the call was upheld on replay. Watch my lips: There was no replay!

Read MY lips. There WAS a replay. It was just that the issue of who had possession was not one of the things where the refs call on the field could be overturned by replay.
As well as the fact that they can't call offensive pass interference from a replay.

The NFL is practically printing money. This whole labor dispute is crazy. Pay the refs and lets get back to football.

And I have to agree, if the replacement refs are still there thru week 4 you have to give the season an asterisk.

I still don't understand how that offensive pass interference was not seen by the ref. Tate clearly pushed off

lol yeah they missed that. but they also called PI when it didn't happen and blew a ton of other calls.

there is no ONE call that you can say. though counting a int as a TD is pretty damn big.

Can you really blame the reviewing ref on this one? He was put in a tight spot. His idiot comrade had already ruled it a TD on the field inciting mad celebration by the home crowd. He was thinking either call it correctly or call it smartly so he can safely drive home. Too bad for GB fans and Fantasy boys.

No argument from me here. It was a terrible call. I can't even think what the zebra who thought it was a TD thinks he saw.

lol @ "russell wilson is the first quarterback in history to throw a game-winning interception"

lol @ the refs put a kicking ball down for the two-point conversion play haha... how are you gonna throw a two-point conversion with a kicking ball?
