I hope my Amazon prime same day delivery of the Hardened edition I pre-ordered doesn't fail me 🙂

No way I'm willing to wait in lines for pretty much anything I'm paying good money for with release day delivery, free shipping and no tax from Amazon.

This is the first year that I haven't done a midnight release for CoD, mostly because I had $100 credit on Amazon and I didn't want to take off this week. And no, I don't take off FOR the game, it just happens to be I generally take a week off around this time.

Hell I've taken of days from work to pretty much just play CoD this year.

Had days I needed to use up before I left my old job.

As far as everyone being good .. yeah these games you pretty much are forced to play tons of hours if you want to be even moderately competitive (less so if you've already got tons of competitive MP hours with very similar games).

Yeah, the reality is that many of the people you will run into have put a good amount of hours into the game (like me) and it does have a learning curve. It does take practice to do well competitively.
 
Also, in MW2 the killstreaks basically made the good players better in terms of stats. You can get easy kills when you get to five in a row, drop a missile strike down for two kills, then drop a harrier for even more easy kills if the other team doesn't have shoulder rockets, then from there chopper gunner. The old setup I had was either Missile to Harrier to Chopper Gunner, Harrier to Pavelow to Chopper Gunner, or Harrier to Chopper Gunner to Nuke.

Supposedly the kill streaks aren't such major kill hogs this time and it's more about personal skill.

That sounds promising. Always felt like those that were best had that much easier of a time getting the killstreaks that no one else could usually get.

Those guys on FFA that get dogs and gunners.

Not all do, so you need to check. They close sales at 9pm but allow people to either purchase (if available) or close out their pre-order. Then, at midnight, they allow people to go in to the store and show their receipt to receive their copy of the game.
 
Completely lost track of dates. Was in Gamestop this afternoon and they had all the stuff out for the launch and for awhile I couldn't figure out what the big deal was.
 
Reading all of this makes me think of how much hard copies suck. Online preloads are so much better. I hope the next gen of consoles give that option.
 
I never played Black Ops, and quit playing MW2 long before that came out, but for some reason I suddenly feel strangely compelled to go buy MW3 tonight and play until my eyes bleed.

Okay, thanks for the info...I actually got talked into my first preorder last week when I bought BF3 and reserved a copy, so was unsure when I could go get it. Not that I need to go pick up a game at midnight on a time change week...

Umm points and xbl are not game software. Plus if people actually went to the website that showed the deal, they already explained that it wouldn't work. You were going to have to get multiple games to get the coupons. That's how they intended it. I have 2 friends that are teaming up to get their 2 copies from there.

Gamerankings has it as 91% based off of 25 reviews so far. Lowest was an 8/10 out of those 25 reviews. IGN had it at 9/10 and Gamespot 8.5.

All those sites are blocked at work so I am sorry I cant link.

Yeah, I saw Kabob on for a while last night. Lucky bastard! I should have thought about joining him for the midnight launch. He lives fairly close to me. Hopefully Amazon delivers it early today. I didn't receive my last game from them until late the next day (Gears3).
