Great idea. I bought Uncharted 3 and have a $20 coupon so I'll use it to get MW3 + 4000 MS Points for $90 - $20 = $70 then I'll get a $15 gaming coupon. $15 kind of is a crappy deal because previous deals were for $30 and $20 for Batman Arkham City and Uncharted 3, respectively. But I guess better than nothing.

Actually they don't need a promo to push MW3 which is why you're only getting $20 off the 4000 points. The $15 is generic for just spending $40. I don't even think Amazon is doing promo credit directly on the game. But really you're getting $35 for buying both. Also if any one plans to do this, make sure you are signed up for SYWR (Save Your Way Rewards) because it's required, and it's free.

For the Skyrim fans in here, there is an even better deal. Wait until Friday (11/11/11) and buy MW3 and Skyrim, and you will be rewarded with the $15 gaming coupon plus an additional $35 gaming coupon for spending $110. That's a total of $50 which is almost another free game. They have to be purchased on the same receipt. If you can't wait on MW3, but it Tuesday and just do a rebuy when you get Skyrim.

Also thought I would add all the promo credits available this week in case any one is looking to get these games and MW3.

Have you played any of the other CoD MP? It's probably going to be the most popular game on XBL for awhile. But you have to decide for yourself which game suits your play style.

That's like asking us which is better, a sports car or a pickup truck. They both have guns, they both have soldiers, but they play COMPLETELY different.

BF3 is more of the pickup truck, it can do a lot of different things. You've got your on-ground soldier combat, you've got tank combat, helicopter combat, jet combat, deathmatch, objective games, etc. There's a lot of different ways to play it.

MW3 is more like your sports car, really you can only play it once way: in your face and fast paced, but it does that EXTREMELY well. Sure there's different game modes but despite the various objectives they all play out pretty much the same way.

Call of Duty has always been much more my style but different strokes for different folks.
 
BTW, someone mentioned on AVS that the K-Mart deal will not work with the point cards or XBL time. I'm not sure of the details but supposedly if you buy $110 worth of game software you get a $50 coupon, so everyone was planning on nabbing MW3 + 4000 points + 12 months of XBL, but it looks like you have to get two games.

Might wanna check it out.
 
If the bs no scoping sniper crap is back I will not buy this game. Bf3 seems to lack any of the cheese pseudo exploits that are almost always present in the cod games

It's there but supposedly it's been balanced out a good bit in that snipers run ridiculously slow, so they can't use it like a single shot assault rifle.
 
Quick Scoping is the bigger issue and it really came about late in MW2's life.

Call of Duty Elite is in the Xbox Live Market (and free, although I assume the Premium stuff will have to be unlocked):

Saw this this morning and was laughing my ass off.

That said. I hope MW3 is epic cause I'm been having to hold myself back from buying BF3.

Already have my Elite PS3 copy on pre-order from Amazon, should be here tomorrow.

Was playing BLOPS this weekend a bit and it seems like a lot less people are on. Guess between BF3 and MW3 being so close.

Quick scoping pisses me off more than any other single aspect of blops.

I really hope snipers have to be true snipers in MW3.

My problem with Modern Warfare 2 (the last one i rented) was that everyone was SO good. Is that how its gonna be this time?

Do Call of Duty games have a lot of cheating in them?

Yes, probably. The games play so similar that people just need to readjust to the weapons/perks and they will be as good as they were in previous games.

Depends on what you consider cheating. The hardware modifications tend to be more popular, such as the autofire triggers. You also get people who exploit maps or perhaps bugs, but the devs have been pretty decent about getting them patched.

Cheating, not really.

As far as everyone being good .. yeah these games you pretty much are forced to play tons of hours if you want to be even moderately competitive (less so if you've already got tons of competitive MP hours with very similar games).
