Yup, I found out when I tried to add you through xbox.com 🙂

Yeah, it reminded me to clean out my friends list. Looks Kabob is still going strong. I sent him a message telling him how much I hate him.

Anybody know if COD : Elite is worth the money?

FYI to those who pre-ordered from Amazon: the price has dropped to $51.99 and you will be getting a refund. The rep I chatted with said it is done automatically, but it couldn't hurt to do a help chat and make sure.

IMO COD Elite is worth it if you do the DLC. You get all the DLC included and you get it early (new DLC every month, probly just 1 new map if I had to guess). Given its $50 you would spend that much on DLC anyway.

I got it because I went with the Hardened edition, which I only did because I'd save $10 on Elite. Since I buy every map pack anyways, I figured it'd be worth it if there's at least 3 before the year is up.

Man, these graphics are dated. I hope they retire this engine. It really looks and plays like MW2.5; they used sooooo many of the same assets.

That's perfectly fine with me. I had no issues with MW2's graphics. I'd prefer it if they focused more on balancing issues and avoiding glitches as well as a smooth FPS.

What do you want them to do? The game was probably worked on over 1-2 years - a new engine would take some time to develop. I'd rather have 60fps than something like a BF game.

It's not even the new engine that is the issue, we need a new Xbox that can handle better graphics before better graphics comes out.

This is true, and MW is a sales monster on the consoles. I think this was about the best they can do, as even BF3 is fairly weak on console when compared to PC. MW3 will outsell BF3 by a huge margin on consoles.

On the PC, it's the exact opposite. MW looks like 2600 compared to BF3 there, and sales, particularly beyond the first 3-4 weeks, will heavily lean in BF3's corner.

I hate all the complaining/crying/comparing between MW3 and BF3 and the console/pc argument. If the games are fun, that's all that matters. Never understood why someone would get "mad" at someone else for enjoying a game.

they could ya know, work on the engine while building a game.

and use it for 2-3 games instead of 5.....

but the 360 is showing its age and needs a real update

Not always. Besides, very few game studios actually make their own engine, most of them purchase them. Ranging from the Unreal engine to the id Tech Engine to the one used by Battlefield.

They have enough money they could by plenty of engines. No excuse at this point.

The majority of people I know are happy with the game and its graphics. Unfortunately, you seem to be in the minority. Different strokes for different folks I guess.

not for the game they are making at the time, for 'the future'.

its call of duty, lets not pretend like they cant afford it.......

and bf's is frostbite

I havent had time to play it yet but from the youtube vids I have seen, they are pretty shitty compared to BF3 or crysis with the hi-res texture update

Loving it so far. I did crappy because I run around while not knowing the maps. Crash course in map knowledge.
It feels faster. BLOPS felt lethargic while running and ADS.
Like the gameplay so far with strike packages, leveling guns up, etc.

I do agree, CoD needs a new engine. Not necessarily for "graphics" but for future proofing. There are several things that frustrate me about it.
It's the biggest franchise in entertainment history. They can make this feasible.

So, does MW3 add split-screen online multiplayer to the mix a la Halo? Like many others, I would love to have the ability to invite friends over and have them login with me as guests to play online.

If you could do itin mw2, you can do it in this one.

Can't wait to play this when I get off work. Haven't been playing much Black Ops due to BF3 and just taking a break in general from it so should be a lot of fun to get back into COD.
So far what I'm hearing is pretty promising.

Played the game a couple hours after the midnight release. It's going to be a good game.

I am in dire need of a new television, though. My CRT just isn't cutting it.

Yeah I agree that it looks really dated and basically the same but I am having a ton of fun. I only played MW2 for a couple weeks and didn't get BO at all so it is almost like new to me.

Playing FFA death matches right now. Is that the fastest way to level up? It seemed like it might be but I'm not sure.

That kill confirmed mode looks awesome.
