Ya i think im gonna wait for the OTA release. Been reading across some forums and the leaked 2.2 doesn't seem to be working so hot for everyone.
Sooo....what's the difference between 2.1 and 2.2?
Note that the EVO doesn't get all of the standard 2.2 enhancements because of its Sense UI. Froyo's free WiFi hotspot is also not included because the EVO's existing Sprint hotspot is a paid service.

took my phone in to a sprint repair center today... they basically had no idea wtf happened to me phone.
all I did was apply the update that THEY pushed out. /facepalm
their only solution was for me to get a new phone... but they're backordered, so I'm still without a phone for the next 5-7 business days.
FML. couldn't have happened at a worse possible time as I'm trying to coordinate movers, painters, a plumber, cleaning lady, and canceling my cable/utilities.
I wanted to re-activate my old flip phone, but unfortunately, the charger is lost somewhere in my moving mess.I have a Sprint Hero and a Sprint BB Curve both sitting on my desk not being used...
I've had my Evo for a couple of days now. As it came set up, battery life sucks. I was getting about 12 hours out of it. It came with a 1500 mAh battery.
I made the changes suggested in this thread and we'll see how it goes from here.
Otherwise, I really like the phone. Especially Voice Search/Actions.
Edit:
Anyone using the 3500 battery? Curious how much bigger it makes the phone.

Thanks, I'll check them out.http://batteryboss.org/
Its not 3500mha but at 2.8mha it still has almost twice as much juice. Olds also check out www.androidforums.com they have a lot of tips and stuff for you to read to lower battery consumption.
Thanks, I'll check them out.
I did see a thread about the battery on howardforums. It is bigger but it protects the camera lens better than the stock battery/case.
I'm going to get a new Evo a little later this month, saying goodbye to Blackberry and AT&T. Any chance it'll come with 2.2 right out of the box?
Picked one up on Tuesday, 2.2 out of the box.
What's everyone's favorite ROM?
I've tried Cyanogen and Fresh so far. Both pretty slick, wish Cyanogen would incorporate 4G though.

I got 3500 mAh battery from Hong Kong. Only had it two days and since I have to fly today, I didn't let it run all the way down before I charged it.
Over the course of a day (24 hours) with general use, it went down to 69%.
