I know the show is supposed to showcase Ramsey's rage at the chefs' incompetence but I think Fox really messed this season up. Every single one of the contestants is utterly incompetent. At least give me someone to root for. Terrible, just terrible.

Well, he did like the big-chested chef's dish.

The fat asian man-child will be gone in a week or two; so will the loud-mouthed african american woman (not the short-order cook, but the other one).

The redhead is hot, BTW.

I really hope that someone competent emerges this season like Heather did last time. <3 Heather!

It's hilarious how many people have already broken down and/or panicked in the first episode. The wafflehouse cook, if you ask me, might mean well but is totally out of her depth and it shows in her naivety. She'll be gone soon due to a knife in her back anyways.

Top Chef is ftw... sometimes I think Hell's Kitchen is more like How to Be a Line Cook 101.

that said, I'm still watching both 😛 I think Hell's Kitchen is pretty funny. sometimes I wonder, though, if GR just makes things up to criticize about people's food to play into his image.

This is why I like Top Chef better. I think the rejects from Top Chef would easily win Hell's Kitchen.

Too many incompetents, IMO. The good-looking redhead, the 25 year old white guy, and "Rock" seem to be the only halfway decent contestants.

I'd never watched HK until tonight. It is awesome! I started laughing when the Asian Cowboy started crying. HAHA

there's one guy that's competant who they didn't show much of, and the hot red head seems competant too. I think it will be down to those 2 at the end.

I can't believe how many of you think the redhead is hot. And who's the "big chested" girl you guys are talking about? One and the same? Trust me, I know all about the "Engineering Scale" meaning when you are amongst a bunch of uglies, even the average girl is deemed hot. For example, Pam in "The Office," though I actually find her attractive otherwise as well.

Anyway, redhead is a dime a dozen "jowzee" girl. What do you guys want to do? Go down to "da shorrr" with her this "summa"?

I do admit she's not half bad considering the other candidates like the manbeast who got eliminated last night and the pastry chef that looks like she had a bout of down syndrome.

I agree with Gibsons. Any Top Chef candidate would rock the house with Hell's Kitchen.

Part of being an executive chef is having people to follow you.
1. There is no crying in Hell's Kitchen
2. I wouldn't follow Eddie to Toys-R-Us, how does he ever expect people to follow him?

Prediction: Rock will win

I agree that none of this seasons candidates seem great, but I wouldn't dismiss Eddie just because of how he looks. He might surprise some folks with his tenacity. You have to figure someone in his position has seen a lot of stuff in his life, so he should be better equipped to handle it than most.

This is different than the other HK Seasons how?
There is ALWAYS only a handful of competent contestants. That's my one gripe with the show. You know how is going to make it and who isn't. I wish you could combine HK and Top Chef. I want HK but with all professional chefs (sous, line whatever). That way you get 12 people who all think they know what they are doing, and Gordon just berates and breaks them down.

THAT is the show I want. But HK is more than adequate for now.

You know Eddie will make a run for it. It's just the way it works. The producers wouldn't pick a disabled person that would suck. You KNOW there will be the heartfelt moment where he talks about "just wanting to be treated the same as eveyone else etc" But you KNOW that he'll rock some competitions and make a run for the end. Who knows maybe he'll pull out the W in the end (doubtful).

For those that missed the Season 3 premiere last week, it will be shown again tonight at 8:00 ET.

The new episode will air immediately after.

Encore starting now.

LOL, never, EVER put a bunch of women in the kitchen together. Only bad things can happen.

I made the mistake of offering my honey a tip in the kitchen once. ONCE.
