this game is amazing.

i just played for 5 and a half hours straight with my girls little brother in the campaign mode.

it truly feels like a freaking epic game and there are some AWESOME battles. there is just so much going on and i love the vehicles and just everything about it.

i was never big on Halo 2 single player (didn't even finish it) but this one dedfinitely keeps my intrest. i don't wanna go to this party tonight so that I can finish it, but I have to cause it's my girls cousins heh.

i think i'm going to get up early tomorrow morning to finish the last 2 levels cause i'm busy in the afternoon.
 
Nice to hear purbeast. I silently curse you everytime I see you playing, but I've been trying to get through Bioshock before the weekend is out. It's a free rental from Gamestop before I quit there next week.

I just finished it and holy crap, this is one of the most epic games I've ever played. It's just so freaking awesome and has so many parts in the game that make me feel all giddy like a little kid.

I swear I just beat it now, and the last level I almost wanted to stand up and clap. As lame as that sounds, it just gave me this feeling inside. The music pumping and everything that just goes on in that game gives me this feeling that other games haven't done in ages.

I cannot wait to play through it again co-op with 4 people online. Simply an amazing game.

I want to discuss more about the game, both positives and negatives, but I don't want to spoil anything for anyone so I'll hold off until next week to do that.

I played the game a total of about 9 hours today heh. And that was campaign only.

How many hours of campaign gameplay is there?
 
Just finished it, co-op with a friend. Damn, that was fun. I'm going to try some single player campaign tomorrow, and maybe a split screen deathmatch later.
Basically, what purbeast0 said, it's amazing.

I played heroic ... probably 10 hours or so. Would have been a little longer if I had played all the levels Solo though.

🙂 As excited as I am to read the reviews myself...I really think something might be spoiled in the game by doing so 🙁 Might have to just get it and play it for myself.
 
If you guys frequent any other sites that posts their review, let me know and I'll update the OP. And IGN is slow as hell right now, it's getting battered.
 
Ahhh makes me want to play it. Now damnit! 🙁 I've been warming myself up with Halo 2 the past few days...really can't wait for Halo 3 tomorrow though.

Correction, 9.8. From everything I have read and seen of this game, especially that review, it looks horribly overrated. 9/10 seems accurate to me. 9.8 does not.

Sure, I think the 4-player co-op and Forge are cool features, but it doesn't look like much more to me than Halo 1 or 2.

I believe the whole world has become over-obsessed with Halo. It's a VERY solid series, but these reviews seem too biased. I've heard plenty of criticisms about how there's not a whole lot of new stuff, the gameplay is still playing "catch up", the graphics aren't amazing (art direction, though, perhaps is), etc etc. They say the AI is amazing, but I'd have to say otherwise. It looks like Halo 1 and 2.

They did that in Halo 1...😕

Oh, my favorite. They praised the physics...What? I have yet to see any game be worthy of praise in that area since Half-life 2 was released. It didn't look any better in the videos. Do the enemies, and Master Chief, still fling their arms around like a retard after being blown away by a rocket?

Ok, so I'm being harsh. I loved Halo 1, liked Halo 2, but I'm not seeing 9.8/10 material here. I'll have to play the game and see.

Edit: Of course, 1up, which I believe the whole team are too biased towards Halo in general, gives Halo 3 a 10/10. Never saw that one coming. I guess Halo 3 is as close to perfect as it comes? I better sell my PS3 right now to get it!

i'm sure if you had your way, it would be punishable by death for anyone to actually enjoy playing Halo 3. i am truly sorry. just let people enjoy it man. :thumbsup:
