The only real difference is that draw distance is MUCH better in that version of the game and The screen doesn't explode in Red errors textures when he drives through the glass. looking great though. I can't wait to get this game.

You probably should talk about stolen code, or participating in anything involving illegal activity. If a mod sees this post, you will be permabanned. I doubt you work as a tester too, because of the NDA.
Just some advise![]()

That's pretty much the same way I feel on the graphics. Aside from that, my memory may just be screwing up on me (wouldn't be the first time....), but isn't this the same video that's been available (non-Bink form though) for a pretty long time? I swear I've seen it in lower quality versions before.....

You guys didn't honestly believe HL2 was going to have Doom3s graphics in an outdoor environment did you?

I'm telling you guys, we won't see this until November.

I don't think anyone is saying anything different... November is likeless than 20 days away... and its not even officially gold yet. December wouldn't even suprise me. It would be sweet if it was a November release IMO.
The CS:S beta should have no effect on the HL2 release date.Originally posted by: HostVisions
And seriously, given what I've seen with the CS:S beta, I would not be surprised if this isn't pushed into next year. Mark it, I said it here first.

After getting an email from Vermouth pointing to a forum post by Gabe Newell about the status of Half-Life 2 I decided to check with Gabe myself to make sure we werent looking at another spoofed post. So, here you go.. a couple of quick bits from Gabe on what up:
"Yes, the RC went to VU yesterday""
RC being a release candidate.. which means they hope its done but a couple of bugs may still show up in testing. RC cycles can be fairly quick or drag on for weeks. Oh and for completeness, here is Gabe's response to my asking for confirmation:
"Yes. Getting close"
