The 6950 still wins since it was able to render 30-40fps, while the 560 gets ZERO fps. Oh wait, it's not even supported on the 560 :whiste:
I wonder how much the reduced memory will hurt the frame rate in eyefinity on the 2 out of 6 games you actually get playable rates? Sarcasm aside!

eh?, how do you think the GPU gets its data!...surely you are aware a faster CPU helps with frame rates...and the 260 is slower than the 560...yet 3D was shown as 40FPS on the 260, so you are incorrect 3D is viable on the 560.......RIGHT!
3D is Viable with Left for Dead 1 with a 16x12 monitor I agree. Now let's put in perspective shall we?

AMD Eyefinity with 30-50% performance hit BAD BAD BAD!

nVidia with 3D vision performance hit 30-50% GOOD GOOD GOOD!

So I am seeing this good right? RIGHT?

I guess you didn't notice my 3x 20" in my sig?
Yes I have a 3x 1600x1200 EF (4800x1200) setup (4916x1200 with Bezel correction). Games run very well on my single 6950 2GB. Just have to turn down one or two settings down a notch, and I play with Vsync on and maintain 60fps the majority of the time.

I actually have 4 monitors hooked up to my main rig, including my 30" Dell.

Its not the performance % hit that matters, its whether or not the FPS are playable!, or do you not agree with that statement.

Would you mind giving us some FPS figures for the playable games then? Not forgetting that we are supposed to be discussing the 1Gb version AMD released as the PRICE competitor for the GTX560...I am sure the reduced memory will have an impact at such high resolutions....

I cant and havent argued that, however you havent commented on the eyefinity benchies that didnt even have 8AA and were unplayable whereas 3D and PhyX is viable on the 560 and therefore the card has more to offer, not to mention its the 1Gb 6950 that is the price competitor to the 560 and eyefinity with 1Gb can only be worse.....other than that the performance is equal.

Seriously dude. Lets take a game. say F1 2010, a game that would be great in eyefinity.

A GTX560 gets about 50fps at 1920x1080 in that game right? So you would have to more than halve the framerate for 3D, lets be generous and make 25fps. Does that sound playable to you?

A 6870 at 5760x1080 gets about 25fps in that game also. A 6950, even the 1GB would get a higher framerate. So is 3D still useful and eyefinity isn't?

By the way, I average 35fps in the f1 2010 benchmark and I play at those settings, even in wet weather with graphics mods I installed.

Just so you know, 3D uses more memory as well. I can't tell you how much, but it does.

Yes...but still a viable feature on the card...I only have 16x10 LCD. What is the lowest res you can use in eyefinity?

You can eyefinity with any resolution. There is someone who did it with 1280x1024 monitors.

Is your LCD 120hz?

I love driving games and thats mostly what i play, hence my Momo wheel. You need very fast frame rate for smooth racing for sure..

States 6950 CF only gets 62FPS, CF scaling is what 75-90%....hardly sounds playable to me!!
On the other hand, those with 16x10 and a GTX560 can run 3D...actually, does it have 3D?

I would seriously love to see eyefinity F1 2010....do you use the side LCD's for like your left and right views?

No.....I dont know whether the text pitch would be readable for me on a 24"HD screen, maybe 27".

Yet the 890Mb? GTX260 could give payable rates....but you are right, I imagine it would, though it already has the textures in memory to render twice!

No, you need a smooth framerate. Those with 16x10 monitors need 120hz monitors and even those have crappy response times.

I don't understand your reasoning, you make seem like eyefinity can't be done with 3 16x10 monitors.

With those that game will run much faster than a 560 with 3d.

http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/wiki/AMD_Radeon_6970_6950_-_Featured_Review_Page_5

with 3 16x10 monitors a 6950 gets just under 50fps in dirt 2.

These are with 3 1920x1080 monitors.

now look at the 560 benches and cut all the framerates in half and you get the 3d performance.

Thats even before you run out of memory, which i'm sure is possible.
You still think 3D is more viable than eyefinity?
