I hope he shows his normal brilliance tomorrow, because he really fell apart in game 7 of the ALCS and was visibly irritated with himself. A great career, and another Yankee destined for the Hall of Fame.

Thanks Roger for a great career, and one of the main reasons I'm a Boston fan. Another Red Sox great in the Hall of Fame!

:beer::beer::beer::beer:

He had great years with the Sox, but 2 of his 3 Cy Young awards were after his Sox days.

How about 3 of his 6 were after his years with the Sox. He won it with Boston in 86, 87, 91, with Toronto in 97, 98 and with the Yankees in 01.

Clemens should be a Sox in the Hall,
Look at his stats as a Sox vs the Yanks. Completely more dominate
2 of his 3 Cy Youngs???

Try 6.
3 Cy Youngs as a Red Sox,
2 Cy Young as a Blue Jay
1 with the Yankees

Not to mention
1 MVP as a Red Sox,
1 Allstar MVP as a Red Sox

I think most of his wanting to go in as a Yankee is still anger towards a Red Sox front office that is no longer there.

Actually as much as Clemens probably will hate to admit it, he owes the end of his career upswing to the Red Sox.

Had the Red Sox not disposed of him like they did, he probably wouldn't have been motivated to get himself in the shape
he was in in 86, and really prove to them they made a mistake. He worked harder than ever to give the Sox the finger.
And did it as a Blue Jay. He was a Yankee to win a title.

3 Cy Youngs, LMAO. How can you create a thread about someone and not know how many Cy Young's they've won, let alone Roger Clemens, one of the greatest pitchers of all time? Must be another side effect of the disease plaguing AT, the I'maYankeeFanButCan'tName10NYHallofFamersW/outGoogling disease.

Clemens has recently admitted that he's still attached to the New England area, and now that Boston's management has been revamped I'm sure he doesn't have many qualms about Boston. Minus Manny Ramirez, who will be gone next year anyway. :)

I don't follow baseball ... but as a kid, one of my coolest Halloween memories was going trick-or-treating at Roger Clemens' house in Katy, TX.

It was probably somewhere around 88. He handed out signed baseball cards and candy, he was dressed like a tiger and there was a line down the street ...

Good stuff ...

Seriously. I would rather have a Roger attached to my organization than Manny. He has said he wants to play in New York.
Last time I recalled you still have some years left on that contract manny. How about running out a few balls.

EDIT: Misspell

Umm sir, I made a mistake. But don't you dare question me as a fan. I was a diehard Yankee fan when the #1 starting pitcher was Tim Leary, Claudell Washington played center, Jesse Barfield played right, nobody played short, Joel Skinner caught, Mike Paglirulo played third base, and Steve Farr was the big time closer. The Yankees were in a tough fight for 4th place every year. So don't give me that whole spiel because I made a freaking mistake.

It happens I guess. Jesse Barfield, I remember his baseball card (Topps) when he had the big jerry curls, lol. Mike Pag's, talk about back in the day haha. Remember when Dave Righetti set the save record? The 80's was an exciting decade of baseball... Probably way better than the 90's. 00's have been action packed so far though.

Sure I remember Rags, I remember Guidry too. Talk about a nasty splitter!

Anyone know how much his rookie baseball card is worth? I still have it lying around at my parents' house.

I believe it's Topps, but it's been a while.

While I am not sure how many innings pitched makes a Pitchers season complete.
I believe Clemens rookie season was 84. Otherwise he would have won rookie of the year in 86, which he didn't

I believe Clemens has said this is the end of the road, in MLB, however I have heard he wants to play in the 2004 Olympics.

American League Fan here(except when the Giants are in it). Go Yanks. If the Yanks blow out the Marlins it will also be a testament about how good the Sox were to take the Yanks to 7 games,11 innings!

His last start isn't going to be a pretty one. A ERA of 27.00 as of right now. I respect the guys talent (although I think he's riding the Yankee gravy train right now) but I don't like him at all. Have fun in the Hall of Fame though, you deserve it.

Regardless of the outcome of tonights game, this guy is a LEGEND. Any baseball fan with half a brain should realize that. As a casual baseball fan, I'm glad I can say that I got to see him pitch over the course of his career. It's a shame that Clemens, Maddux, Johnson are all at the tail end of their careers. It's been great watching all of them pitch.
