I had no problems at all with the ice part. I too am surprised. I died once the first time, 2nd time I didn't even go that slow, I thought it was relatively easy.

**SPOILER**

I need some assistance!

In the act "Ascension" on the Centaur, did anyone have a problem at the end with the three Corpsers? I get pwned and die before I can even regain control over the Centaur. The corpsers are inches in front of me when the lights come back on, and BOOM, I'm dead before I can even move. I've tried it from every angle... restarted the chapter. I'm feeling like a complete noob. Not sure what else to try.

Yeah, I made this post right after finally getting through that stupid reaver part. That one put me over the edge. Almsot as annoying as trying to drive through the stupid ice.

Man, i almost threw the controller at the wall at the ice part. That part was definitely unnecessary.

What was the big deal? All you had to do was drive really slowly and not be in a rush. I took my sweet as time after 2 tries of trying to gun it around the breaks, and passed them easily.

Yeah, my first try I died because the ice breaking was totally unexpected. The second time I went to fast. The third try, I took my time and looked for the obvious path to the next piece of land.

I was more ticked off about pre-determined pieces of building that randomly fall off and crush you without warning or ability to move. My favorite was walking down a straight and getting the "Y" button pop-up telling me to look somewhere. I pressed "Y" only to watch a piece of building fall down on top of me....

I guess i was just antsy haha. I didnt really like the controls of the vehicle too much, i think i was too used to halo.

What difficulty are you playing on? As soon as they lifted their legs and exposed their head I shot them in the face and they crumbled into death. They did this one at a time. This was on Normal if it matters.

I did the same thing on insane, they lift their legs and you shoot them, one shot kill. Something is wrong if they're killing you instantly.

i had a problem for a sec there, too. it seemed like i didn't get a chance to move. but once i figured out when to shoot, it's easy. when i was there, it went from left to right, so it wasn't too bad. my problem though was the far left corpser always had his legs up a little before the light came on, so i had to shoot ASAP when i could, otherwise he trashed me.

It has been confirmed. I'm a noob. I didnt see the guy on the right early enough to see him rear up and shoot him.

Finally beat the game tonight. Hopped onto multiplayer for the first time, was killed within the first 30 seconds of play, then my Xbox froze. Awesome.

That's no good at all.

I finished getting most of the achievements last night (all but the public multiplayer match victory achievements, Seriously, 1999, and meatshield). I've been trying to get my 10 meatshield saves, I don't know exactly what counts though. I've used a meatshield until it was blown to bits many times, it usually doesn't count though...

I think it does just have to get destroyed. FYI the achievement counter doesn't pop up after every kill, only at like 5 and 10, you can see your progress in the War Journal.

The enemy has to die by gunfire or explosion to count towards saving your life by a meatshield. Here's an easy way to get the achievement:

Down an enemy, tag him with an explosive grenade, then quickly pick him up. He'll explode, killing him, and will leave you unscathed with +1 towards the achievement.

my gt: pinbacker

I've only played one versus match and a few horde games lol. I think I made the mistake of playing the campaign on hard.

Looking for one more on Horde RIGHT NOW. If anybody is interested, send me a friend invite or join my session. Gamertag: blurredvision06

We're playing on casual, starting on wave 29.

Thanks for the message mesthea, but you read my message a little late, as you sent your message when we were just starting the last wave.

Four of my friends and I started on the first level of Horde, and battled through to about 29 when one person got disconnected, then we lost for the first time. I had to go, so we picked back up at level 29 (there was only 4 of us total this time), and we just finished off level 50. AMAZING fun, it's the epitomy of teamwork, because you know you most likely won't survive without all of your guys.

We were playing on the Day One map, and had a pretty good system. We all stayed on the Regency side of the map (not the Arcade side), basically because there's way more room to take care of boomers, grinders, bloodmounts, and the mace-swinging guys. One guy would stay up top on the balcony using the sniper and satellite weapon (it's name escapes me for some reason). The other 3 of us stayed down and took care of business on the street. Lots of deaths, but I would guess that we revived each other 80% of the time. We always found a way, and that's why we were able to get through it. Constant communication through the headset also.

This is probably the most fun I've had playing co-op since I played terrorist hunt on the first RSV.

Yeah, Horde is pretty slick. Try the River map, it's another good horde map and the first place I beat wave 50. Pavilion is my favorite overall but we've not had a decent team try it yet. Two friends and I joined up with two guys who kept running off by themselves and getting killed, we got to wave 24 or so (pretty much just the three of us). I'd like to beat it at that map.

The satellite weapon is the Hammer of Dawn. I love/hate how they added an ammo amount to it, in the first gears there was no limit to the amount of ammo it had in MP.

Ya, you certainly can't run off by yourself. We all basically knew this, because a couple of times somebody would get a little ways around the map chasing enemies, and we'd be telling each other to get back to our base of operations. We'd talk back and forth at the end of waves and in between rounds on setting up nade traps and everything, what we were trying to achieve in the first minutes of the next wave.

Awesome, awesome stuff.

I want to try to get 1-50 without repeating a wave. That would be sweet

So, I played some public MP...the lag was so bad that I'm calling that quits until they fix it. 7-8 second lag on the first game, 1-2 second on the next...

You really shouldn't give up over 2 bad hosts, those results are not typical.

Live is also experiencing some problems right now while they try to get NXE up. Started over the weekend.

It was the 3rd vs. MP game I'd played and all 3 had problems.

I just quit out of games that are laggy enough I can't get kills, I've only had to do it a few times though, overall I've had almost no lag with gears 2.
