If you want to do a strength build, say in NG+, Radahn's greatswords are an awesome weapon. Need 38 strength and to trade in his remembrance for it with the old lady next to the two fingers in the roundtable area. I respecced to a strength build (I have a million larval tears at this point) and was playing with it for a bit yesterday and the L2 attack where you can draw enemies in and then follow with an L2 where you smash your swords into the ground and kill everything around is pretty awesome.
I can almost use those as is then. I have 35 stength as is (30 + the talisman that adds +5, I always keep that on) so that would be easy for me to use.

I would definitely buff strength a bit then, as Radahn's Starscourge Greatsword when upgraded should murder that Tree Sentinel Golden Halberd thanks to the L2 + L2 attack combo, which is nuts when you have upgraded the sword a lot. Forgot you were doing a strength build. Needs 15 intelligence too.

If you have found the Mausoleum Remembrance area in Liurna of the Lakes there are two Walking Mausoleums without bells near there which will each allow you to duplicate a remembrance of a side boss, so you could use either to duplicate Radahn's remembrance and get both the greatsword and the bow. I think it's those two where you can duplicate it since I think he's considered a side boss. Though since he's the one who unlocked the tower in Caelid for the great rune might need to duplicate him at a Walking Mausoleum with a bell on it, the easiest of which to get to is in Weeping Peninsula.

I am kind of doing a jack of all trades build lol.

I have 24 faith, 18 int (using the helmet to get to 24), 30 strength (35 with talisman). I think dex is like 19 and vigor is like 22 maybe with stamina around there too?

I have the sword of night and flame then quite a few sorceries that also won't work when I take that helmet off and go from 24 -> 18 int.

I also had no clue that sword was such a big deal and popular until they nerfed it lol. However I am still finding it very useful in certain scenarios even with it's nerf.

So yeah I am all over the place with what I'm doing lol. I will check out his sword tonight probably, at least choose it from the 2 to choose from. I don't think I would probably use the great bow much. I don't know why but I don't use em too often at all anymore, I prefer to just use some magic and toss that shit, although range is an issue.

I still have the thing i collected from the moon lady chick too. I should probably just sell it for 20k since I won't be able to use any of those items anyway since I don't plan on making my int like 40 or whatever is needed to use either of the options.

I also found those big ass rememberance things the other day and got inside of one and it wouldn't let me duplicate anything I already had. So maybe that was the one that was for the side bosses? I wasn't really sure and didn't know different ones do different things. I only went inside one of them but saw like 3 of them in the area I was in.

The sound of those things walking around and shit is so awesome on my sound system lol.

Congrats. She was *easily* the hardest main boss in the game for me.

Did you fight Dragonlord Placidusax? I couldn't dodge his teleport to claw slash at all and escaped that fight by the skin of my nuts on about the tenth attempt.

Yeah. I have all of the achievement bosses. I died once to him when I badly timed my heal flask. Got him on the second try.

30k runes can be farmed rather quickly, under 5 minutes of not trying and 30 seconds trying, in mid game and on. That's arguably the best caster staff in the game. You may not plan on using it now but it's worth far more than the small amount of runes it provides.

If you want to farm runes head to Lennie's rise and ride down the hill half way on the left until you see a large ball appear. Turn around and ride past it so it falls off the cliff. Each time you get like 2500 runes.

It's closer to 2342 with golden scarab on, but who's counting!

Easiest spot I’ve found so far is quickly killing the five giants near stormhill shack. 5000 runes and sometimes it’s randomly more than that for some reason. I am not as far as some of you guys though. Just finished up with the academy minus being unable to kill Rennala just yet.

You def can get to the part @sze5003 is talking about where you are at. I got there much earlier than where you are at. And you net 2300 runes (1900 if no gold scarab) in like 20-30 seconds. This is where load times on PS5 are great lol.

I'm sad, will probably finish the game today. Don't know if I want to beat it 3 times for the plat though and have my savefile on NG+3 for when the DLC comes out though. Obviously there will be DLC considering there was epic DLC for Dark Souls 1, Dark Souls 3, and Bloodborne (haven't played Dark Souls 2 though).

I have no interest in getting a platinum trophy. I am a completionist but just never really cared about trophies.

Got the final boss on my fourth attempt. Now when the credits finish rolling I'm going into NG and go bust Tree Sentinel's ***.

Nearly all of the trophies are 'beat this boss'. I'd recommend getting those just to experience the boss fight, even if you don't care about getting the 3 ending achievements/trophies.

Doesn't even seem fair using my builds that took down Malenia and the dragons to now fight Margit, Godrick, and Rennala in NG.

I'm at the Fire Giant on my PS5 INT build. So far the class is pretty easy to play and glad I saved it for second. However, compared to the PC, the framerate, even in performance mode, is abysmal. The PC would stutter at times, but maintain 60fps @ 4k maxed out for long stretches. The PS5 feels so sluggish the majority of the time. Fights with huge bosses in open settings can suck, especially when piloting Torrent.

If you have the digital game from PSN you can download the PS4 version which keeps a good framerate and is how I'm playing. It's 1800p checkerboarding though and cuts down on shadows as well as removing a lot of the tall grass that's such a big part of the art style. Wish PS5 would support FreeSync so I wouldn't be stuck playing the PS4 Pro version of the game on PS5 just to remove stutter.

I have physical disk so stuck with the PS5 version. They should have targeted 60 fps with variable resolution.

Got to Nokron yesterday and wow. The atmosphere in this game simply cannot be beat. Just awesome.

I am playing on PS5 and am pretty pick about framerate and stuff and I honestly have not been bothered much by the framerate issues. I notice the pop in quite a bit but even that doesn't bother me. I guess it's just because I am enjoying this game so much I am just overlooking it lol.

I do wonder too if one of the settings on my projector helps offset some of the framerate too. It's a setting I have on in my game mode that makes things "smoother" even when watching normal TV, and I hate it for normal TV and is only why I have it on game mode. I do not believe it is the same exact thing as "soap opera mode" on normal TVs but it has a similar effect.

Productive night last night😂 Finally beat Rennala and then took down Rahdan right after. I ditched my heavy Longsword+11 for the Bloodhound Fang for both fights. Also killed the Milllicent invader in the blood swamp. That Commander mini boss in the swamp is out of reach so far though. Really enjoying exploring Caelid, just perfectly creepy with the sound design.

I’m usually picky about frame rate and was disappointed to see the performance in PS5 performance mode when I first got the game, but it hasn’t bothered me at all since. Grass pops in sometimes too particularly after fast travel. I could play it full res locked at 60 probably on my 3080 but prefer to sit down at my couch.

Wow those are two boss fights of wildly different difficulties to do one after the other haha.

I had a harder time with Rennala even though Rahdan drops more runes, obviously her first stage is easy but she hits pretty hard her second stage and it takes forever to run back up there. I got Rahdan in three tries without much difficulty. Just kept the summons up and ran around on my horse hacking away with the bloodhound fang while the summons soaked up a lot of damage. The “bullets” are pretty easy to roll through while he’s still far away at the beginning. RL 70 I think now.

Yeah once I realized that for Radhan you can basically lock on, get behind him, then hold up and mash R1 to attack him and you just follow him from behind and he can't do shit to you, it was pretty easy lol. Just took me a while to figure that out. And once I did I got him on the second try. He didn't get to do his comet move until he had like 15-20% health left because he was about to do it and I landed a critical blow taking off a ton of health and stunning him, so me and the summons kept whacking away at him. Then when he finally did the comet move I pretty much ran and let the summons finish him off.

I found Rennala to be a complete pushover and Radahn one of the most annoying bosses in the whole game.
