I ended up beating some boss in the weeping willow section everglade jail. He gave me some talisman that automatically boosts your stats by a really good amount.

Before that I was using a great axe talisman which gave me like 1200 damage on charged attacks with my fangblade +4.

I haven't played forbidden West since I got it. This game is huge and even if I'm following through with a walkthrough I still find a ton of crap to explore and get into.

I do want to get back to forbidden West but this game does become addicting quick.

I really think it does live up to the 10/10 reviews, and I usually only consider one or two games per gen to be 10/10 (last gen it would be Bloodborne and NieR Automata and that's it).

Yea the more I play it the more I'm considering that too. Even when I'm done with one section and it's taken me several tries, after I put it down I always come back to it and continue onwards.

Which is weird for me because I like story driven games with some structure and direction but the exploration here is really well done.

I don't even know how they came up with some of these places, the caves, dungeons, it's just crazy.

Yeah I am not even an open world fan that much but something about this game makes me not want to put it down at all. Like I've sank more time into this game in 2 weeks than any other game probably since SF4 came out in 2008. And that was for much different reasons and playing against others.

I have retired my kitana sword and am now rocking the weapon the tree sentinel drops. That thing at a +5 is ssssssoooooo much stronger than my +9 kitana blade. It has made some of the bosses I was struggling with a cake walk. And if you press R2 to power it up even more before engaging, it is even better.

The thing is with this game it's not like I can put it down for a month or two and then come back because I'll be completely lost. Which I guess is part of the reason I'm following that walkthrough anyway.

I did that with demon souls and have not gone back to it because I forgot where I was supposed to be next.

With forbidden west it won't be an issue as there's a quest log I can look at and remember what I should be doing.

IDK man, that uchigatana has been a monster for me in boss fights with the unsheathe R2 attack that does a ton of health damage as well as a lot of poise damage too. I have been using the thing the entire game and I love that it's light enough I'm not having to do fat rolls when I have it equipped. Was enough to just take down two Tree Sentinels at once in the last fight I did.

This game is so addictive. At 105 hours now but quickly running out of bosses. Took care of Astel, Malenia and the Gargoyles today. Had a mini panic attack when things started to look like Anor Londo. Was half expecting to be sniped by archers while trying to scale the place.

LOL that feeling when you're carrying 160,000 runes looking for a save spot, stumble into an unexpected dragon fight but think you're OK because you can use your mimic ashes but then run too far to get away from the dragon flames and the mimic checks out and you're on your own.

So did you hate the gargoyles as much as I did? Tried fighting them the first time with +4 jellyfish ash, then +4 mimic ash and it was tough to even get one down. Got my mimic to +7 and it was pretty doable though.

I got to them after doing a lot of content. I killed the first one using the Ruin Greatsword weapon art in seconds. He was pretty much dead before the other one spawned. I feel that it’s too easy to be OP if you don’t fight the bosses in the designed order.

The Tree Sentinel's weapon does MUCH more damage than the unsheathe attack does. I was using that a lot as well myself on bosses. But it's super slow to do multiple ones. The normal swipe with the sentinel's weapon just pressing R1 does significantly more damage than unsheathe and you can follow up with more swipes. I can get 4 attacks in before my stamina is drained. I am also on med-load too using it but just barely.

Might be because I'm doing a high dex build and used the keen ashes for unsheathe on my uchigatana that gets it to scale B-level with dexterity, but the uchigatana sheathe attack does enormous health damage for me. Also R1 attacks don't do posture damage with any weapon AFAIK while unsheathe does huge posture damage.

I beat the tree sentinel today as well as 2 crucible knights. I'm making my way through castle stormveil now.

The crucible knight in the everhold took me a long time and I found that using no skill perk on the sheild really helped me defeat him.

The second crucible knight I had him follow me to an elevator and he fell down.

I found those guys much much harder than the tree sentinel. I fought that guy mounting and mainly using charge attacks on my weapon.

Need to roll through the giant blue arrow after its fired. Need to mount and strafe for the volley of spears attack. Keep making your way towards him while summoning the NPC's to help.

Yeah I figured all of that out and then all of the NPC's were dead quick af lol. I don't think I got him down more than 1/4 of his health after a bunch of tries so I just rolled out to something else.

The way I did it:

1. While dodging the arrows summon all npcs; also need to get on the horse to outrun the spears he throws, but the arrows are impossible to dodge except on foot
2. Once all NPCs are summoned ride the horse in and get behind him and do a couple of unsheathe R2 attacks while I can stay under him and he's not glowing. When he glows GTFO out of there because he's about to do a magic attack. Keep doing until half health when he flies up in the air.
3. Get on horse, dodge the meteor, summon all NPCs.
4. Repeat Step 2 until he is dead.

Oh once the NPCs die, you can summon em again?

Yes. Just keep them alive and let them take the aggro. The last time I fought him, I literally didn't hit him once.
Wow okay I did not even know that lol once they were dead I went in and got my ass handed to me. Thanks for the tip.

I don't own a copy of Elden Ring but watched Youtubers try to solo Radahn and it usually ends up being a much tougher fight without the summons than with. Seems like the game gives you the summons during this fight for a reason, so might as well spam them and try to cheese the fight as best as you can.

Yeah I was using them, I just didn't know you could re-summon them once they die.

Don't think it's really cheesing to use summons, Radahn is way too agile to solo unless you're godly at this game or use something cheap like giving him scarlet rot and then just running around the ring.
