The annoying part about Rennala was that the first part was so easy that it seemed like a waste of time, and then the grace closest was not very close so it just took a while to get to the second phase once you died. That part annoyed me. And I found the second phase kind of tough just because she could basically one shot you and the summons she had were random and some more annoying than others.

There were a couple times in the first part too where I felt like I was running around endlessly trying to find the right girl to kill. I know they have an aura but sometimes they’d just be buried in some obscure corner of the room. It’s super quick if they happen to spawn all in the middle. Took me maybe 10 tries over the past few days, getting to the second stage each time and then having to run back all the way up.

I’m not even sure Rahdan got to his comet move for me the time I beat him but I can’t remember. Maybe I just sensed something big coming and ran away on my horse lol.

LOL... had no clue there was another f'ing island south of where you start the game. I crossed the bridge and a whole other little island opens up. I'm super OP for it where I am at but I've been stuck at +3 flasks for like 2 weeks or so now, and then found 2 sacred tears on there in like 30 minutes and now am at +5.

Unreal how much content this game has.

There are at least 3 down there. They were the first 3 Sacred Tears I got in the game.

Commander O’Neil in the swamp is no joke. Harder than Rennala and Rahdan put together …

I thought Radhan was way more of a pain.

Maybe it depends on your build, or maybe I just suck and got lucky on Radhan. I got O’Neil down to 5% or so three or four times this afternoon but couldn’t finish him off. Got another Bloodhound Fang level and a few more rune levels since so should be able to take him down. I’m pretty sure taking him out is key to a certain side quest or I would have given up way earlier.

Also made it to Nokron! This damn game is huge. 45 hours in and I feel like I have a long way to go.

Yeah 45 hours isn't much for how big this game is. I had 180 hours or so in my first playthrough. Now I'm maybe 5-7 hours into my second playthrough and just racing through and fighting every boss again. First game in a long time I jumped immediately into a second playthrough of after beating it once.

Also, Nokron is absolutely loaded with great loot, so explore every inch of the area.

I got to Nokron the other day at like 75 hours in. I think so far it is my favorite part of the game. I just love the atmosphere and everything. I am at level 104 now I think.

And yeah make sure to check every nook and cranny lol. I nearly missed a whole section of the damn area which has something you won't want to miss. It was like behind this little canyon where a grace was, and then you can jump on over to a whole new section. I completely bypassed it the first time around there. I haven't completely finished down there either.

It's so build dependent. I had a much harder time with my STR build than INT. I basically one shot him the second time through. However Rennala was harder since my INT build could get one shot by too many random things.

There was no way I could get this sword and NOT use it. Just completely badass and I love that this is even in this game.

After getting that I went back to Nokron and ended up facing the twin gargoyles. I actually had like no problem against them as some of you talked about in here. I don't know if it's because I just had the right weapon or what, but the L2 move with that sword just dominated. I had the first gargoyle down to like 20% health before the second one even came out. I died like 2 or 3 times but I thought it would be harder based on what people in here said.

You were likely overleveled compared to other people complaining about the fight.

Yeah most likely. The boss that gave me that blasphemous sword gave 130k and I believe the gargoyles only gave like 90k or something. That is kind of how I determine what "level" each boss is at lol.

Just crushed the Godskin Apostle in the Caelid tower with this sword too.

Wow, didn't know Taker's Flame heals you on each hit.

It's not insignificant amounts of HP either. I found some 7 and 8 somber stones last night so I upgraded the sword to +9 (had a 9 already) but never really got to use it before I went to sleep. I'm guessing it's going to just crush it now. That is my most upgraded swords now on the somber side of things.

The scale and size of this game just blows my mind every day in a new way. I made my way down to the Lake of Rot and wtf lol. This will be fun.

I put 185 hours or so into my first playthrough I think. What's funny is my second is only 15 hours despite clearing out Limgrave, Weeping Peninsula, Liura, Caelid, and halfway through Altus Plain, treating the game like a boss rush where I just run to every boss in the game. Though I have done nothing in the wells in playthrough #2.

I am starting to feel like I am now doing a boss rush because I am just completely dominating pretty much every boss I face.

I defeated like 10 bosses last night and they all felt super simple lol. And I am just leveling up with ease now and leveling up costs so much more now too. I keep killing these bosses/mini-bosses and just get a ton of runes and can level up. Then I find another one and level up again after defeating em. I faced the Capital City boss last night and it was one of the easiest bosses I've faced lol. I blew through like 3 dragons last night and also the one where you face like 6 at the same time by the really large one. Then that boss that is in the rainy north east portion of Caelid by where the guy you give deathroots to I faced and before I would do no damage to that guy and he would crush me, but this time I got him pretty convincingly on my 2nd try.

I am using my mimic tear +10 and the blasphemous blade +9 and it's just tearing through everything. I unlocked a 4th talisman slot yesterday too after defeating one of the bosses as well so now I am rocking the golden scarab all the time and getting more runes, instead of just using it while farming. I'm using scarab, then one that gives +5 strength, one that raises attributes but makes you take more damage, and one that uses less FP on attacks that use it.

I still have quite a bit to explore in the capital city though so I plan on doing that before moving to the next part. I also have a castle I haven't explored yet so want to do that too. But I'm definitely making progress.

Gonna give you some advice in case you want to get the achievement for getting the 9 "legendary" weapons. One of them is in the city and it is missable if you go too far in the main story.

That's exactly where I f'ed up in both of my play throughs. Have all the legendary except that one.

Definitely don't give a crap about achievements or anything so if I miss it I miss it. But if I'm not too far and am checking out every nook and cranny maybe I'll happen up on it.

At this point I'm definitely going for the platinum. Just need two more endings to get it. I think Playthrough #3 for the plat I'm just going to race through and do the mandatory bosses so I can leave lots of cool side bossfights for when the DLC and new weapons come out.

I'm going to try and get the last two endings on a single play through by disabling cloud sync. Was able to use that strategy in Demon Souls.

Not gonna lie, I used a save backup to get all 3 achievement endings in one go. Playing on PC makes that a little more convenient.

Also, my canonical ending (the one I would have gotten if I hadn't looked up how to get the endings) is apparently the bad ending. I still kind of like it, though.

I'm now around 106 hours into this game at level 133 I believe and still haven't even made it past the Capital lol. I got to the part RIGHT after it yesterday and cut it off. I still have a whole castle to explore in the areas before it too.

Can't believe how large this game is.

Its not so much being large than how often you die. According to my son, I have been playing around 150 hours and am only 15% done. He is the Elden Ring king IMO and has 100s of hours in and still isn't complete. I personally had to shelve this for a few days and my arthritic hands have been killing me and I need to heal. :)
