Found a str vile ward today (other stats weren't great). It's up on the AH. Might get 1M for it.

Also found a Zunimassa's string of skulls. The roll is okay, but pretty mid range. Considering that there are a lot on the AH and not many WDs who need them, I'll be lucky to get 500k.

I have more crit dmg than my monk buddy, he has 532% and I have like 583% or something, but he has a better offhand. Overall he's just a better monk but I got confused when I saw a 110k DPS difference, but those numbers were cooked so i feel better - Anyhow, best to use diabloprogress instead of the blizz's online profile dealie. Diablo progress is much more detailed. Although it's hard to really measure the DPS a monk puts out, don't know if any system could accurately measure it. I spam overawe when playing my monk but that doesn't show up in the DPS (extra 48% dmg to enemies around me, for me and the party), and it doesn't count all the dmg my crit tornadoes do. Just gotta give em the eye test and see how much damage they are contributing.

That said, I've been thinking about changing to a Barb for my main. Never been super satisfied with my monk and have spent a bajillion gold on him. And most importantly playing the same class endlessly can get dull. I guess the first step is to get a barb to 60 and see how i like it, which shouldn't take too long these days. Will equip a str hellfire on him, give him exp bonus stuff, MP10 and away I go

The damage on the paperdoll is highly superficial and doesn't reflect much, really. As you said, Overawe isn't calculated in that (I also use it primarily), as well as SW: Cyclone tornados' damage. Same with any reactive skills (e.g. MoE: Backlash). When I'm running my dodge skillset for Backlash I'm betting it does an extra 20k at least when I'm surrounded by enemies (I typically run into the center of everything and spam vortex with Wall of Wind when specced for it).

One important thing to remember is that damage is cumulative. I'd start comparing individual gear stats between yours and his and see where major disadvantages/advantages are. I found your diabloprogress profile, and your unbuffed DPS was 51k? Maybe that isn't with your ideal stuff on or you haven't had it updated in a while. (B.net's breakdown is garbage in comparison.)

I saw his APS was 2.27, and since both of his weapons are 1.5 SPD his damage and speed (and survivability) aren't rollercoasting. I see your APS is only 1.65 (and that may have been recorded with your last swing being your offhand...your main is even slower), which is really, really slow for a DW monk. Not sure if that's really what you're running with or you were theorycrafting, or whatever, but that's one major spot I'd look into changing. Actually, your LoH is pretty low with that slow of APS. How do you survive? Even with you having 5.5% LS, I still can't see how that's possibly enough to compensate for damage taken in anything over MP2. You also have zero LPSS, which is a great supplement for any lacking health recovery from LS/LoH. And your LPS is only 511, which isn't exactly noteworthy to compensate for other areas of lacking health recovery. Your build is pretty uncanny to me - if it works - honestly.

Overall, I see his Dex is about 400 more, he has much faster APS, and his CD is nearly 300% more. I think it's pretty obvious where his DPS is stronger...unless, like I was saying before, you were theorycrafting or not using your best gear and this is what is recorded last on diabloprogress.

And ya, I'm jealous of my brother and his Barb. He started it a week ago, spent maybe 30m on gearing him (in comparison I probably have about 120m invested in my monk?) and survives better than I do and does more damage. Kinda, really, mostly, utterly...makes me sick.

Nah I dunno what diablo progress is saying, could be way in the past but I got 582% CD and 2.12 atk speed. He does have about 400 more dex though and I survive pretty easily, even now in plague/molten which before was a big weak point.

So in short, every online diablo profile is all way wrong apparently - edit: ah it's just way old, says I last played 4 days ago but i've been playing every day still.

It is weird that your CD is only being reported as 250% instead of 582% and your attack speed is that much faster...

So in 4 days you've boosted your CD by 332%?

Negative.. in the vault of assasins. I did buy one in the Auction Hall, but no socket. Can't afford a decent one with a socket.

It dropped, I picked it up and was thinking it would be like every other crappy rolled unique. Waited till end of run to id it, and to my surprise.. a socket . yay!!

Well it's up to date now, and it looks accurate except for missing the hellfire ring which is apparently not working right with all of diablo progress.

Got a pretty nice hellfire roll a few days ago, 4% crit and 29% CD.

Anyways, it was good advice none the less, even if diablo progress only updates every 5 days or so (maybe they were having some issues)

I shall forever be in the shadow of my 1337 monk friend - Unless perhaps I make a 1337 barb - I am not looking forward to having a monk yard sale though, will never get back nearly what I paid for most of my monk's equip I suspect. But I might not even like playing Barb anyways, will have to level one up first.

12 legendaries since the patch release and theyre pretty much crap outside of one or two items. Gonna double my dps next and use all the left over int gear for my wizz. im still only making 5 million every two or three days and thats if I play for quite a few hours. What kinna gear will make me gold the fastest? MF gear or GF?

Yep. I found 4 or 5 legendaries last night, I think 4 within an hour. All except one were turd. I disenchanted 2 of them (one lvl 61 and one lvl 58 - I did the 58 for shits and giggles), and the other 2 I will put up on AH for pretty cheap. It's actually more annoying to think that this is the shit we were putting up with pre-1.0.5 (i.e. the shit rolls) and the fact that legendaries almost never dropped. And I've still only found 2 or 3 set items over 500 hours.

It's still more than vendoring it, and brimstones are almost guaranteed to sell, as opposed to bargain basement uniques.

And it's also a final eff you to the POS for dropping and rolling as turd.

What's a good setup for a DH, skillwise? I'm in A2 normal right, now about lvl 25, I'm running with cain's set and MP6 so I'm leveling like crazy. I'm using bola shots right now as my main attack, and the secondary attack is the one that makes you shoot arrows like a machine gun.

Also are the traps worthwhile? It seems odd but I never use any of the discipline skills...do they get useful later?

Every set item I find sells for a retarded amount of gold, act iiii gave me three and so did act iii but sadly only 1 piece was body armor and the rest were rings or weapons. All shit I wont use.

For me, I salvage worthless legendaries primarily for space management. Brimstones stack a lot easier than 98273984792834 worthless legendaries that will never sell.

Got a 800 LoH sword that I put on my bard's secondary weapon and that change alone got me through act 4 MP4....

From now on, farming Act 3 MP3 sound about right! Me happy
