Has anyone heard any new info on Diablo III? If there is no NDA on the beta, shouldn't we be hearing a ton of new info daily?

You won't see a lot of mainstream publicized info while the F&F is still going on. Once the beta starts up, press and fansites will get their access to the beta. It is my understanding that Blizzard yanked access for some press and fansites as they didn't want them in yet.

I thought you can't mess up your build in Diablo III. At least, I don't see how you could since you can re-spec skills on the fly.

Right, you don't really choose skills in D3 anymore, you just choose which ones you have hot keyed. So, realistically there is not even builds anymore, Blizzard already told us we can even change skills in middle of a combat.

You absolutely get to choose skills via socketing runestones. Since there's five flavors for each skill that change it pretty significantly, that's where the variety and "build" comes into play.

Yeah, when I was jokingly seeing if I could make a "ranged Monk", I went around choosing any ranged attack I could find and using runes to stun or slow enemies. I actually kind of got something that seemed workable on paper.

I'll most likely just end up building a Monk that uses the Spending Spirit -> HP passive, and focuses on high defense to become more of a "tank." I'm not sure which ability is good though... there's one that grants defense and another that grants dodge chance. Without playing, I have no idea which one would be better to raise and whether the passive provides enough to make it worthwhile.

I have not heard anything recently about this, and I don't think the beta includes runestones, but Blizzard has said that you could swap runestones out on the fly as well. Removing a runestone does not destroy it.
I'm sure the difficulty of collecting the high end runestones will specialize you, but it should not be too hard to collect the second best runestone in each category, and lets face it the difference between the highest level and the next highest level will be close to negligible. That minor difference is a lot different then having a skill build.

I was going to say this.

The runestones can change a skill a lot.

Closed Beta next week, so they say.

Then again, that's what they said about this week. I think the bugs that came up with Public Games and the AH sealed the deal for a beta-less week. Let's hope they iron those bugs out.

i made it to level ten, beat a boss, and it said 'congrats you have beaten the beta'

Going to go through it with another build later tonight. love it.

I need information on the collector's edition, stat! What sort of useless things that I'll never use will my $30 go toward this time! 😀

I got the SC2 CE, and I'm a much bigger Diablo fan, so I'll probably get the D3 CE as well 😛

As someone who's currently a late-addict to Titan's Quest, how does D3 stack up? I really like the great variation that TQ has in character classes. The mix-and-match of skills gives it a lot of replay value. Torchlight, on the other hand, didn't cut it for me. I lost interest because there wasn't a lot of character build variation.
