Does the Torment level seem harder to anyone else than the highest level of MP previosuly?

If you mean before patch, yes. Torment itself is harder than Inferno was pre-2.0.1.

I was never able to play at top MP levels. But Torment 0 is harder than Inferno MP3. At least for my Chars anyway. My Witch Doctor was able to do fine in MP3 (Solo and multi) and never died. When I started to play Torment 0 my WD died constantly. I have updated its gear so it survives much better now. But still dies more than pre-2.0.1.

It will be interesting to see what the full effects of RoS are once it's released, as there will likely be additional improvements/changes by that time.

Even though I'm just starting, and want to level 2-3 characters to 60 before I dive into the end game, it's a bit frustrating that I have to pay $40 for an expansion that should really be half that price, based on the amount of content it has. To me, the additional $20 Blizzard is charging is basically a pay-to-win premium since you can't really enjoy the end game without the expansion. Hopefully there will be a flash sale somewhere for RoS sometime in the next month.

I'm glad I was able to hop on the Gamestop $19.99 deal for the base game, as this is really is the most fun I've had with an AARPG since Diablo 2 (although I still think D2 was better).

What are you talking about? I've been enjoying D3 for a good while without paying an additional $40 for RoS...

Right now, the game is quite enjoyable imo as well. What I'm saying is that once RoS is released people without it will essentially be barred from the end game, as they won't be able to take advantage of level 61+ items/content which will probably be vastly superior to anything available at level 60.

Don't get me wrong though... I'm quite enthused at how fun the game is to play (given that I just started playing a few days ago and avoided it like the plague since release). However, I'm a bit annoyed that Blizzard basically fixed the game but is essentially charging an additional $40 to fully enjoy it.

I don't understand your point though. Every WoW expansion that you don't purchase excludes you from any further content as well.

If you enjoy playing without the expansion, you can continue and continue to get gear that is of the appropriate level. You won't get access to the new class, the new act, the new adventure mode or the new level 70 legendaries.

It's not just WoW expansions either. D2X was vastly better than the base game.

I would say that the amount changes made in RoS is pretty close to that of D2.

The best counter for me is how many of changes should have been in the game from the start. But still. They did change a heck of a lot.

This! With a Cain's set, a Ruby in the helm, and one of us to power level you, hitting 60 should take an hour or two tops.

Juste started a Wizz and I'ma already up to lvl 43 just playing casual. Looking to power lvling it up to 60 if anyone cares to join me tonight... roughly 10pm eastern.

You'll probably see a $10 off at some point over the summer (and that may be tied to a buy both promo), but it will be turkey day before you see a possibility for anything substantial.

I can see a $45 or so Battlechest being release pretty soon with both.

Yes we shall see. I probably won't be picking it up in the next few weeks though since I literally just started playing the game two days ago.

Btw, what do you guys think are the best followers for the Barbarian and Wizard? I'm thinking a scoundrel for my wiz, but can't decide what would be best for my barb.

Damage output, it is the scoundrel (even with the crit chance nerf). For survivability, it is the templar. He will stun for you, heal you, and give you some decent regen. Realistically, while leveling, it doesn't matter. And once you hit end game, group play is worth more than anything any of them provide.

Cool thanks. What about the enchantress?

I also think that $40 for an expansion (!) is way overpriced, in particular since this will likely mean €40 in Europe which is pretty much close to a full-prize game.

However, I just sold 500,000,000g I had via the RMAH and was able to buy RoS from my battle.net account balance...so I am pretty satisfied : ) There is still ways to go IMHO for loot 2.0 but even with all the flaws which still exist it's still better than what we had before, NOT so much because of loot but also in terms of flexibility for builds eg. for my wizard. Seriously, before it was ENTIRELY RETARDED since there was nothing but Archon and CM...and Archon certainly not viable for anything higher than MP7, just for farming and for endgame CM was the only workable build.

Archon doesn't seem as much fun as it did previously though. It was cool trying to get gear to go perma-Archon, now I don't know what to think of it. Improved Archon seems to be the best rune, since the way damage is calculated that 22% is multiplied against all your other +%'s (which are additive).

I dunno, personally $30-40 I consider par for the course for an expansion. I paid that much for D2X, the NWN expansions, the DAO expansion, Brood War, the WC2 expansion and probably others throughout the years. Not to mention those were priced that way >=10 years ago and since then they haven't really gone up despite inflation. Not to mention the greater competition in the game retail space has really caused new game prices to dive much sooner and be subject to more promotions/coupons/sales.

Anyone here over Paragon 300? What's your Paragon level everyone? Just wondering 🙂

I am only 150, but that is because I put a lot of time into my barb and just never played the other characters until much later. My wizard was perma stun CM with 250k DPS and I had maybe 40 hours played on it. I also had two monks, both around 40 paragon. I ended up really disliking the way the female monk looked, so I rerolled.

My barb had the most time (followed by my DH, which I played maybe once or twice after paragons were released) and so I didn't get a ton of levels over 100 after this update. =(

The enchantress used to be okay, because you could give her a legendary staff that had magic find. However, now, it sucks. I suppose the 3% APS might be a little helpful, but I'd think either the crit or the heal would be better overall from the other two followers. Plus, you can tank up the Templar (mine has like 125k HP) and he can take a lot of heat off you if you're a ranged character.

Oh I see. I played Barb alot too, way back in mid 2013. Now I only play Wizard and my self found WD. Right now I'm playing Frozen Orb build on my wizard and it kick ass! I'm just grinding XP with my friends atm, we don't bother with item farming because all items we find now will be useless in RoS. I hate the female look for the Wizard, her head looks so ugly for real! 😵

I'm Paragon 282 🙂

Some of us solo all of the time as people we know don't play games.
