Hit 32 on the hunter last night and got 2 additional raid pieces on the Titan! Got the Black Hammer as well, which sounds like a porn name. Still need the Nightfall, but I can do that tonight.
 
I now have gotten the raid boots twice, and the damn gloves thrice! Still need the chest....

At least I got MIDA from the first chest.
 
I just got an LDR 5001 legendary sniper rifle in the mail from an unknown recipient...I'm not complaining.
 
What new year gift did you guys get in the tower? I got an email that there is something but I haven't logged on in ages.
 
So, should I spend shards on upgrading my legendary gloves and boots that I bought from the Vanguard vendor? Or should I save them?

Ascendant shards? Spend them. There are new shards for the newest raid gear (radiant shards), so you can go ahead and use those ascendants on any vanguard/crucible/old raid gear you come across.
 
Ok, do ihave to play in groups to get new raid gear or is any off the new stuff soloable
 
The damage difference between 31 attacking a 32 and a 32 attacking a 32, is huge.

My head shots do 6XX at 31 and 1049 at level 32.

Buying vanguard or crucible armor to get to 31. Maybe doing Vault of Glass to get chances at ascendent materials. Strike playlists to get chances at weapons and such.
 
Is Vault of Glass the level 26 Raid? If so, is there a way to join up with PUG's to complete it or do we have to use our friends list...

Yeah that's it and I recommend using destinylfg.net to find groups. Otherwise you are limited to people you know, there is no matchmaking.

Matchmaking is nonexistent for anything outside of strikes.

destinylfg.net is your best friend to find pug raid groups.

Ugh... Did the nightfall on two characters last night. Both times got exotic helms that weren't great.

In other news, holy crap the Black Hammer is good. Especially, against bosses that don't move a lot. That nightfall was pretty easy being able to just destroy the bosses with constant shots.

The problem with this NF is just getting to the boss and the amount of time it takes.

The angry + no burn makes guys take a long time to bring down.

Wish I had BH though. Don't have that or IB.

VoG normal should be 1 hour or less with a strong group of 30+ who've done the raid before.

VoG HM should also be fairly quick, maybe 1-1.5 hour with 31+ who've done the raid before.

What? VoG is less than 30 minutes if you have a group that knows what they are doing. HM maybe an hour.

It really isn't that bad. At least, it wasn't for me. It took maybe 30 minutes each time I went through. The first part is skippable up until the guards, and that doesn't take very long. The tank gets destroyed with BH so quickly. And then, you don't have to kill anything up to the boss.
