The scout rifle I have has a random bullet do extra damage. It is pretty nice. I guess I won't buy Dragon's Breath. Although, I might just to have it. I have tons of coins (haven't purchased anything in a long while, as I've been waiting for SUROS or MIDI).
 
I'm 3483/4000 to level 4. I spent 18 energy leveling hunger of Crota. Leaves me with 25 to trade out. I'm guessing Sunday? Doesn't really matter. I still need lock boots and a Titan helm for 32.
 
Another thing I have been doing is stock piling exotic engrams from Xur. I've got 2 gloves, 2 helmets and 1 chest waiting for house of Wolves to be decrypted.

I got a great weapon from leveling up vanguard. A Nitc scout rifle but mine causes the target to explode with precision kills. A fatebringer scout rifle!

That's probably the same roll mine got. Still prefer hawkmoon or multitool though for various reasons.

Won't work. People tried that when CE came out and every item ended up being from the old rolls. Weapons were 300 cap etc. the item is determined when you get the engram.
 
Ugh... 30 on the Titan waiting for xp on the gear and the nightfall gives me another legendary fusion rifle... I swear, this is all I get anymore.
 
The article talks about two new weapon types.

I'll go out on a limb and say they are melee weapons. Maybe heavy and light weapons.


Or, they could be damage types. Like, light and dark.
 
I hope it's not melee weapons. The fps stuff is well done but the controls while using the sword for example is IMO terrible and awkward. Unless they give you melee when in FPS view which wouldn't be bad if you could hold a dagger or something. I think it will be weapon types. Like some new types of primary, secondary, or heavy weapons. Rail guns, laser rifles, grenade launchers or something. It would make sense lore wise that they recovered some more technology I think.

If it's melee weapons (I hope it's not), they better fix the control sensitivity changing sometimes after picking up a sword.
 
I doubt it will be a melee weapon. How would the ammunition work?

It is going to be something similar to the Spartan laser for heavy, imo. Perhaps, some kind of dual wield primary or a different type of pistol.
 
Just picked up Destiny and the Expansion for PS4. I'm level 25 but still don't really get the game.

Explain this to me. I have the Strangers Rifle, Attack power is at 215 or so. I got a blue Auto Rifle with an attack power of 264, yet the one with 215 does more damage. How is that?

Can someone explain the mechanics to me?

The attack rating determines how good the weapon is against high level enemies. The actual damage per shot is determined by the impact rating. If you check the impact stat and compare them. You will see that the auto rifle is lower in that stat. However you will do more damage against harder enemies.
