My pre-playoff call for the WS was Dodgers vs Red Sox so I'm not surprised ... the Dodgers don't just have Manny, they have Joe Torre's steady hand on the tiller & more importantly some very good pitching.

This team reminds me of the 88 team we had.

1.Great pitching (no Orel though, but seriously his dominance during that stretch was historical)
2.A dominant, clutch hitter in Manny/Kirk Gibson.
3.Scrubs/Role players that caught fire at the right time.
4. Steady management (Torre/Lasorda).

Now do the same in regards to the Cubs. After having lived there for 5 years, I'd say it's pretty accurate that Chicago overall favors the Cubs.

Unsuccessful does not make them the worst. They're extremely profitable. When you consider how cheap Cubs owners have been historically, and that they're able to get by with ancient facilities--indeed, most of the sports world would crucify whoever tears down Wrigley--they're probably one of the Best franchises. Lots of money to be made with very little effort.

Like the Clippers, though it's easy to say that even the Clippers are worse by your criteria.

Sports = Winning. If you wanna talk about profit, then its a different argument. The cubs haven't won anything in 101 years....how does that not make them the worst franchise ever? The marlins spend less than what they pay Soriano and have won 2 rings in the last 11 years, you can't blame the spending.

Just as many mullets and thin-mustacheod 16 year-old punks swilling High Life, tossing trash cans and starting fights as there have always been.

Don't get me wrong, I like watching games there. Highly entertaining and I don't have to hear the god-awful Hawk/DJ broadcast. (Holy shit they suck).

Also, I worked on the Southside for nearly 3 years. Was there every day. Believe me: there ain't a damn thing there.

Seriously though...what kind of true fan calls it The Cell? Fight the power, brah! It's Comiskey. Always will be (or Comiskey lite, if you prefer) 😉

I'm not arguing that they haven't won a WS, but talk about weaksauce. your precious secondary Sox where only one year out on the Cubs' misery 5 years ago. Not like they've been incredibly stellar, either. Cubs have made it to the WS (well, not since '46 😀), which means they've certainly won more than "anything."

I could be wrong...but I do believe they have more division, and possibly league championships than do your WSox during their respective droughts.

Nah, pretty much just sounds like you using the same old tired arguments every cubs fan uses. I went to about 15 games this season and lived 4 blocks away from the stadium for the last year. The renovations they made to that stadium are incredible, best place to watch baseball in Chicago. But keep using the retarded "blue collar hicks" argument, its the go to line for anyone who doesn't know what they're talking about.
