With the exception of the last couple of weeks and a week or two closer to the begining of the season, my spare shooting is between 80-90%. When I am having an off night, everything suffers. I really should get a plastic spare ball but I don't want to carry three balls.

I have a plastic spare ball. Use it for nothing but 6/9/10 pins. I almost never miss the pins on the right.
3 balls? I carry 5, minimum. 4 strike balls in a 2 on top of 2 ball bag carrier, and I put my spare ball on the top and let it rest between the rails of the handle.

Enterted the night at 213, probably will go back up to 214 though. The second game should have been better, but I was a little slow to move a couple boards right. Went 8 for 11 on spares, but managed to keep my head in the game for most of the night.
 
hmm.. i went bowling a few times this weekend. my top score was a 192. I screwed up the last frame and my chance at 200. my normal avg is more like 100 though.

I was busy and didn't update for however many weeks. I bowled pretty awesome last week minus the first game where I only beat my wife by a pin.

Entered the night at 214 and will probably stay there for another week. Over the last three weeks I have misssed about 7 spares, 6 were splits and 1 seven pin. Odd that I have had so many splits the last few weeks as I normally don't throw any but it does coincide with the house changing the lane conditions up a little bit.

Got a call this week from another team wanting me to join, same league. Think I'm going to stick with my plan to sub regularly with guys I know after the first of the year, though.

Will stay at 216. First half of the first game I was speeding up the last two steps of my delivery making for some ugly shots. Last half of the third game my concentration flew out the window, could not tell you where I even threw the ball the last 5-6 frames.

Awesome night. Everything I threw was gold. Only had to shoot at 6 spare the entire night.

Pretty sure the average will go up to 217/8. Only threw 4 balls not in the pocket and one of them ended up being a strike. Nights like this don't come too often.

It's cool how you just KNOW when you're "on". Every time I bowled an 800 series, I knew after just a few frames that I just couldn't miss, and I would carry nearly every time.

What's the cheapest way to get a plastic/spare ball? College student budget style 😉

A pro shop might actually sell them pretty cheap, might even have a used one sitting around they could redrill for you that wouldn't cost much. Could also try some place like walmart, kmart, or meijer. Could also try sports authority.

I would say I get those conditions about 3-4 nights a season. Unfortunately I only capitalize on it maybe once or twice.
