who is doing the color commentary on ESPN? it sounds like he's talking into a shoebox, his voice is coming across like Charlie Brown's frickin teacher. the play by play guy sounds fine.

oh Steve Sax was quite the bonehead last night too :)

"Wow he really got a jump off second on that flyball, not many guys would have the baserunning instincts to go on a ball like that hit near Andruw Jones." uh dumbass, there were 2 outs

Why does Kim have to make everything so dramatic... he better not blow it.

Gee, nobody saw that coming. Pedro pitches his heart out, and Kim can't open his eyes wide enough to get 3 damn outs without hitting
12 guys in the process.

Is it possible for Grady Little to keep Kim locked up in the bullpen for the rest of the series??

Yeah...tuck him away in the penalty box with Mendoza and Giambi.

Who's idea was it to let Urbina walk away?

Now there is no way Lowe will be able to go more than five innings in Game 3, having to bail out that sorry excuse for what they call a bullpen.

Awesome game, capped off by Bostons bullpen blowing another one and the A's winning on an awesome play by Chavez and Hernandez.

Definitely was one hell of a game, instant classic.

I'm glad I Didn't stay awake for the whole game. Read about it this morning and it was as I feared. A's dd a great job hanging in there, congrats to them. I just hope our offense can carry us 3/4.

Even if the Bosox somehow pull out a series victory against the A's I don't see them going all the way with their piss poor Bullpen. This year they had 57 chances to Save a game amd were only able to Save 36 of them. That's 67% which is truly pathetic. Hell the Florida Marlins would be chomping at the bit to face them.

I'm a big 'sox fan and I have to agree. While it *could* happen and I *hope* it happens, they really do NOT have the complete team. Anaheim had to use their starters as closers to finish off the Yankee's. There's a reason Kim was benched. While he didn't completely blow the game yesterday, the bullpen did. Bummer.

Man, wtf are u talking about? Kim didn't blow the game, EMBREE did. Did you even watch the game??? He got Hernandez to fly out to start the inning, had a walk, and then hit Singleton with an inside slider that Singleton SWUNG INTO. Little went out to argue but to no avail, the umps said he was checking his swing... it could have happened to anyone, and Kim was being agressive by pitching the inside of the plate. Next he proceeds to throw TWO 96MPH Sinkers IN A ROW (nasty, nasty stuff for someone who has been scouted to throw 93 tops) and throws a perfect breaking ball(80MPH) to strike out Ellis. He had one walk and a freak hit batter, so what?? Pedro walked 4 in the game.

If I was Grady, I would have left Kim in to face Durazo, b/c Durazo doesn't hit inside hard stuff well and Kim was just warming up... look at Durazo's hit, it was outside fastball off Embree laced the other way. Guaranteed he would have grounded out off of Kim's nasty sinkerball on the inside corner any day of the week. The problem with Kim is, he likes to throw that high riser when all he really has to do to get people out is use his low hard stuff to induce groundballs. Noone can touch it if he spots it properly, but he tries too hard and wants to strike people out instead of letting his infield help him like D.Lowe... It all comes from inexperience for Kim, he's only 24 and has some of the nastiest pitches in the Majors when it comes to stuff. He just needs to realize that you can't strike everyone out all the time.

All in all, I can understand why Grady let Embree try and get Durazo out, b/c IF Kim didn't get him out it would be mentally tough on a young guy like BK and all the blame would be on him. This way, Embree takes all of the blame, but he can handle it b/c he's a grisled vet. Embree just blew it.

I have to admit, after I re-read the news story this morning (and per my post above) I didn't think Kim farked it up, he did a decent job. I was wondering why he took him out after the strikeout, and your explanation makes sense. If they want to use him again in the next game, it should be slightly less stress for him.

I wish I had seen the inside pitch/swing/hitbatter thing, sounds very controversial.

Anyway, the A's won that game, it could have gone either way. The next 2+ will be very interesting as well I suspect.
