As for that 6800NU, if you aren't sure, then I wouldn't go for it, for a couple of reasons. 1) Me and several of my friends have had tons of problems with PNY's cards in the past, specifically the GF4 TI4200. That card has died a total of 4 times between me and 2 friends. They are just not one of the better manufacturers. BFG, XFX, Gainward, Asus, etc. are all much better companies. 2) While a 6800 seems like a pretty damn good deal for $200, keep in mind that the 6600GT is set to take over the $200 price point very soon, as soon as supply increases. The cards are practically identical in all but the highest and lowest resolution settings, and even there, the difference is minor. Hopefully, bestbuy will start carrying its standard BFG line of 6600GTs, both AGP and PCIe, next week, which are overclocked by default. I can't wait to get one of those PCIe babies to put into my new nforce4 board (assuming they EVER arrive, grrrr.....).

Gainward TI4200 cards were quite problematic too.

Generally it's always best to buy the lower speed of the higher tiered card (6800NU) than the already o'c version of the lower tiered card (660GT). If one is willing to run a hot/o'c card anyway, there's also that option with the 6800nu, and there'd be no contest which is better bang for buck when doing that

Damn. Looks like OfficeMax will be my first stop on black friday. The HD and DVD Burner deals are incredible. BB, Staples and Compusa don't have much. I'm still holding out for Circuit City tho. When will the ad be out?!?

In viewing the numerous BF ads, I still haven't seen what I need to buy:

APC UPS battery backup: BE500U or equivalent model
USB 2.0 HUB (AC powered)

Anyone see anything out there that I missed?

Thanks

Anthony

Samsung 712N 17" LCD Monitor for 249.99 at BB

Could we sue a broadcast companies for "rumors" about the weather?
What HD going to do with the BF ads if the lawer admited it was "rumors".Will they re-print them?

OBVIOUSLY it's defamation of character... I mean posting rumors of horrible deals to make a place look bad has to be!

but really... that's pretty stupid and such a waste of time to go and try and sue everyone who posts their rumored black friday deals. Even if it wasn't rumored, there's no law against doing it. The only person they can get in trouble and probablly fire at most is the dood that leaked the info.

even tho an empty threat probablly... it'll work most of the time b/c no one wants to waste money on lawyers.

Only in America.. could you get sued over "rumors" of alleged... "factual" numerical data. How utterly rediculous.
I'd boycott Home Depot too... but I already don't shop there, and can't imagine who would.

oh no...that means I won't be able to see what killer hard drives and monitors home depot is going to have next friday! Now i'll have to wait in line at 2am to storm the front when they open the doors, lest i miss a great deal on new lightbulbs...

Back on topic...

Considering previous years, does anyone know of any online vendors offering Black Friday deals? Specifically, I've got some items I'm eyeing at:

Razer's store
Newegg
Fry's/Outpost.com

Again - for those who've been around for this in years past (I've only ever done Best Buy BF before), do any of these guys usually have BF deals?

DMCA. Basically makes us being on the internet illegal.

Will this work?
Staples has PNY 256meg DDR 2700 RAM for 79.98 - 35 instant - 20 EZ rebate = 24.9x
Comp usa has it (same PNY 256 2700) for 59.99 -25 instant -10MIR - 15MIR = 9.99

Price match Compusa at Staples for 59.99 then the staples rebates -35 IR -20EZ = $4.9X ?

Probably won't... When they PM they take competitors rebates and stuff into account...
