I looking for a graphics card, any potential for a bf deal on graphics cards

Me too! Been saving BB gift cards towards a BFG 6800.....please oh please....

does anyone have a recommendation for the various wireless LAN stuff? Looking at upgrading to G to I need access point (or outer) + pc card.
Is that $20 bundle at Best Buy really 802.11g?

BB is having A LOT of stuff on sale. keep in mind they are also have a HUGE sale the first half of the week as well, which is expected to be as big as the black friday deals.

re: Graphics cards at BB Black Friday

In years past they have never had anything that significant, and even the warm deals were usually quite limited in stock ... 10 per store, for example. Definitely not worth waiting in line for.

re: Wireless networking gear

It's hard to beat Linksys these days. Since Cisco bought them they have gone from a mainly low cost company to a higher end one, but the "open" support out there for Linksys gear makes up for the cost increase. Solid hardware, very good performance. I use the WRT54GS Wireless G w/SpeedBooster router coupled with the Speedbooster notebook and desktop PCI cards. Got them at Amazon, $62 after $10 MIR for the router, $38 each after $10MIR for the cards. Last I looked though, they had raised the prices a bit. The router is still a good deal there at $70 after MIR, shipped free.

thx, I will look into it,
whats your take on the AIW also offered, ATI All in Wonder 9600XT 128MB Video Card - $124.99 AR

Arg, I really want the Panasonic 53" HDTV from Sears. Don't want to wait 🙁

Hope it is combinable with the 10% off coupon I have. Says no restrictions on it. And 0% financing until Jan 06 with a Sears card.

$1299-10%=$1170+tax

Not shabby for a TV that is costing $1600 everywhere else

sigh..looks like no sub-$100 video cards this year. 🙁

aiw 9600xt for $125 and 6800nu for $200 is all i see so far 🙁

looks like i might have to break down and buy the 6800nu. (pre-buy of course and price adjust on black friday)

anyone have a link to performance tests of the 6800nu vs gf4 4200 vs radeon 9600pro?

omg...the 6800np is 8x faster than the gf4 4200 and 6x faster than the radeon 9600.

how great of a price is $200 for it?

It's only that much faster because of the 4X AA and 8X AF. Using those settings drastically alters the results. WIth more modest settings a Radeon 9800 Pro or FX5900XT are much closer to GF6800. Even so, $200 for 6800 Non Ultra is very attractive price point.

Keep in mind that it's $299 - $100 rebate. Might get into a sticky situation with the pre-buy since you won't be price adjusting it (actual price will stay $299).

If you pre-buy, you'd have to do a return, get refunded, then have them resell you the card on a new receipt to have it valid for the rebate. Oh, and a reminder, some retailers have stopped doing returns during BF to cut down on this, since it does take considerable time to do.

I was thinking about doing this, but this deal's not guaranteed to go through with the usual price adjust technique, and battling crowds and grumpy managers with no guarantee to pull it off isn't appealing.

nothing from office depot?

I work for Office Depot and I can give you a hint that we mght be having this laptop on sale after Thanksgiving. We just got 16 of them and so did all of our local stores down here in South Florida. Our warehouse is out of stock on them so it looks like they emptied house for it.

HP Pavilion ZE4904US SKU: 973-536

http://www.officedepot.com/txt...973536&x=0&y=0

No Idea what the price is going to be but my manager hinted she will be picking one up early. Haven't seen the ad as of yet. We usually only stock 4 or less laptops when they are on sale. This item is also on sale this week but find it hard to believe we got 16 of them for the sale since we never recieve that many at once for any sale desktop computer or laptops.

Has anyone gone to Costco on that Friday? I'm thinking about running in there at 8 am and buying the Maxent but I don't want to go if I have to deal with hordes of people.

I'll be buying anything with these prices:

P4 or Athlonxp class computer 150-250 dollars.

PC3200 RAM 35-40 dollars.

x800 or 6800 class video card 150-200 dollars.

Athlon64 3400+ 140 dollars.

NEC/Pioneer DVD burner 50 dollars.

VCR/DVD players 25 dollars.

ipod/muvo/nomads 1GB+ 25-50 dollars.

LCD monitors 19"+ 200 dollars.
