I've still yet to try a beer that I can drink more than about 1/2 oz of, but have you guys ever had any of our local beers?
Lazy Magnolia
Abita
I'm kind of curious how they stack up to the more popular microbreweries.
Seems like Lazy Magnolia is only in about 5 states (AL, FL, MS, TN, LA), so I can't experience it. Abita, on the other hand, is carried by a store a block down from my apartment. I'll check it out the next time I do a custom six-pack and report back.

Stone was pretty good. Had 3 different ones earlier this month when they first got tapped at a local alehouse. Yum Yum.Name: Stone IPA
Brewery: Stone Brewing Co.
Type Of Beer: American IPA
Score: 8/10
Review: This reminds me a bit of the Unearthy I tried a couple weeks ago, but tamed down a bit, and it helps my palate a lot. Very floral with a nice amount of hops. I'd say this is right near my limit without getting too powerful. Seems like a nice beer to get used to while attempting to get into the extreme hoppy beers, though I don't know if I'll ever have the desire to. Honestly, the more beers I try, the more I feel content just to stick within the Sierra Nevada blanket of beers
Post Dark Lord Day, 3 new beers!
Name: Dark Lord Russian Imperial Stout (2010)
Brewery: Three Floyds
Type of Beer: Russian Imperial Stout
Score 10/10
ABV: 13.00%
Review: Picked up some bottles of this yesterday at DLD and had a few glasses of it on tap. What a monster of a beer. I haven't had DL since 2008 but this was definitely an interesting flavor this year. I doubt I could finish a bomber of this alone due to how rich and powerful the flavor is. Bursting with coffee notes, fruit and a subtle malty flavor that finishes extremely smooth. This is probably one of the most serious beers I've ever had.. there just aren't words for how overwhelmed your senses are by it.

Review: In addition to the 2010 DL I picked up yesterday, I got a chance to try this and also get a few bottles of it. I have to say that the 2010 and the 2008 I had totally blow this one away. It's still a really, really good beer but it doesn't live up to the DL name in my opinion. I feel it came out far too sweet and that sweetness overpowers the other flavors a bit too much for my liking. That said, it has an interesting burn and almost soy flavor to it? Finishes with a nice dried fruit taste. I way prefer the 2010.
You didn't come hang out around bus 420 did you? lol. I remember some guy came up with different years of DL. Didn't get to try 2009 though, would have liked to.
I should have wrote down all the beers I tried. I'm going to try to find these folks to see if they can name drop something.
The best one I had all day was a 4 y/o 20% abv, from a now defunct brewery. Fucking delicious, smelled great as well.
Damn you, I've wanted Dark Lord for three years and still haven't tried it. I went to DLD in 2008 only for them to run out just short of where I was in line.
If you're ever in Chitown let me know, I have a bunch of it.

Review. Very good. Picked it up today as part of a "make your own six-pack" at a local beer store. Not too hoppy, not too sweet, just right. Very smooth.
