I wouldn't worry too much about AMD's official list. It might that AMD is only listing boards that ship with a BIOS that supports the X2. DFI says their current BIOS supports the dual core, and they have no incentive to claim support for a CPU if their board doesn't support it. Doing that would only ruin their reputation and create endless support headaches for them. You will have to flash the BIOS in order to use the second core, but anyone who can't handle a BIOS flash probably won't be interested in the DFI NF4 anyway.
I think some people are under the influence that the proccessor will not be able to post at all in order for them to flash it, I believe that ASUS's EZFlash utility can flash the bios without the proccessor actually working perfectly (or in case of a bios crash) - Correct me if I'm wrong.
Does the Diamond flash image utility (DFI) have the same/different/better ability to handle weird situations such as this?
Some of us don't have another socket 939 proccessor to flash the bios with before we put the X2 in.
