OK so I set up a filter for:
Game: Battlefield 3
Detailed: Ranked/Punkbuster
Free Slots: 10+

No other filters. I only get 30 servers in the results. Only 10 of them have more than 15 players on them. What am I missing here?

10+ free slots? Why?

woops, dont know what happened there. anyway, with all "free slots" options unchecked, i am still only seeing 14 servers with 15+ players. i guess you need to have all the expansions

I do have a couple loser friends who have been level 100 colonels for 6 months now. I should ask them if they ever have sex or $h!t in a bucket. :biggrin:

There's always some strange setting in whatever filter that severely limits my search results.

Just check Full, 1-5, 6-10, and 10+ and you should get a lot more results

i never check to see how many results I get but when I use the 1-5, 6-10, and 10+ filters, i get plenty of server hits and usually join 1 of the first 5. depending on time of day, I might find less servers with more people.

i don't get why you would only select 10+ free slots though. gotta select everything between full and empty to get the best results.

I had my best round yet as jet pilot (actually got an airwarfare ribbon) and of course battlelog didnt record it..........

Went 7-10, nearly doubling my previous best which almost tripled the previous best id ever had before that. Note that I had several unfortunate collisions with immovable objects, usually going after a tank or personal. Stupid poles, trees, and buildings!

Thanks Leonlee and Vulgar, those turning tips really helped. Im finding myself able to keep guys in my sights longer. Now if I could just learn to shake guys off my tail and keep my own orientation while doing it, I might get on the road to jetting success. LOL

Hi,

I started playing Gun Master a few days ago and I had a question. I know you have to kill two people with the same weapon before getting a new one. What happens for me, often, is I'll come across a group of guys and I'll kill two of them then I die. I'll see it say "Enemy Killed 100" twice, but it doesn't give me the new weapon. Or I'll need one more kill and I get it but I die right away. Is there some rule that says you have to survive an additional X seconds to get your new gun?

Is it possible to take out the little helicopters with the larger belt fed machine guns, such as M240B or M60?

I started using the M60 last night for the first time on Kharg, and the RU little copter or whatever it is was hovering between Offices and Gas Station. Since it was firing at US at Offices, and I was bored, I hosed it down with the M60. The thing blew up and I got a kill. Did I just get lucky or is that really possible with that smaller copter and the larger machine gun?

P.S. The M60 iron site is F'ing nuts for engaging at longer range. It was total guesswork...

It is decently common to snipe the pilot with a sniper rifle. I doubt you could take it down from damage with a machine gun though. Try sniping the pilot.

Maybe that's what happened...I got someone in there and something else blew it up at the same time. That was the same server you were on last night. I tried to get the US side to keep you off the top of the gas tower, but they were busy flying around F'ing around....so so frustrating...

You can see the white missile trail coming, but its a little hard to spot. To avoid them (if I see them coming), I just lose altitude and turn to throw the guy off. Its really all you can do, that or stay out of range of that weapon.

How do you stay out of range of that? I play sometimes with a guy, the most ridiculously amazing heli pilot I've ever seen hands-down, and he can TV missile seat-swap murder people from the opposite spawn in Firestorm from his own spawn. His favorite thing to do is snipe the jets with the TV missile as they finish their takeoff. It's the most amazing g-damn thing I've seen, but terrifying if you're on the opposite team. He regularly has runs like 122-3 (3 rams).

I haven't rage quit yet, but, I'm really feeling like DICE really has the belt fed guns nerfed at close range. They are EVERYWHERE but where you point them. It's like I should just aim in a big circle around the guy I'm shooting at 5 yards away and I'd get better hit %. Just insanity, insanity...

Example: From about 5-7 yards away in real life, a guy I'm spraying with a M60 for about 1-2 seconds pulls out his M9, and kills me. I can understand making the weapons not be too powerful, but that is just incomprehensible how a machine gun could be THAT nerfed.

I find range by just swapping to gunner and shooting a TV missile. Max range is when it cuts out, then just figure it out from there. At least it helps avoid dying to all but TV missile bosses lol.

We were camping the enemy hill on firestorm and the same group of about 5 enemies would try to get rid of us and it was hilarious. They would drive up the bigass hill in tanks, only to get out and have me steal it, lol. A Heli pilot got sniped, causing frustration and bringing out the "hackusations". They started crashing jets into us and I lol'd hard. It was just a really fun cat and mouse game on a low count server. I love that kind of stuff.

What is your BF3 name again? Next time we are on together we can do a test. I'll hover a chopper inront of you and you can blast me with the M60 to see what happens regarding damage and suppression.
