For some reason I do much worse on Armored Shield than any of the other maps. Must be the rolling hills that allow vehicles to fire from distance. Anyone find difference in how they play different maps?

i also have the same issue with seeing enemies in sp as in mp. unless they are like within 25 yards, i have a really hard time seeing them. like on the bridge lmg part i spent more time scanning trying to find enemies than shooting. when i did find one, he was so tiny i couldn't tell if i was hitting him or not. They also blend in with the surroundings.
If you are playing on normal servers hit the Q button to "spot" enemies, if any are in the general direction you are looking then they will be lit up with a big orange triangle over their head and will be lit up on your teams HUD. So get into the habit of spamming that Q button. ;)

Totally spam Q. I am shocked that I haven't broke my Q button yet.

It takes a while to 'learn' what to look for and where to look on maps really. I think it gets easier with time as you become accustomed to common action spots and begin to anticipate where people can be/will be. Also picking out the character models and discerning team at a glance helps, but again that just comes with time.

Started to play this again. Stopped after expansions came out. Do I really need to buy premium when I have Le?

LE gave you 1 expansion (Back to Karkand), Premium gives you the other 4. If you are not interested in getting them all, you can buy each expansion for $15.

Spamming spot doesn't work. If you press spot 3 times without getting a hit, your ability to spot is blocked for several seconds. This prevents people from just swooshing their view around the entire visible area while mashing Q from spotting the entire enemy team.

so yeah, after playing this for a little bit now it's exactly like the previous BF games except it has better graphics.

I suck at the BF games. I can never see where the enemies are, i get shot from behind all the time. I get shot from no where a lot, i'm dying in 1 or 2 shots but I unload a full mag into a guy and he's barely hurt. weapon accuracy sucks balls.

do the beginner weapons really suck that bad compared to the unlocks?

if I am trying to aim at a dude I can't see him in my sights. he's so damn tiny and the sights cover him up. even worse if he's moving.

the only way i seem to be able to get kills is by using vehicles, randomly finding a dude facing away from me, or randomly running into a dude (like physically running into him like around a corner or something so we are point blank) and unloading full auto into him (and sometimes that doesn't even work)

Play lots of Metro. There are lots of direct engagements and you can zero in your aim and get a feel for the different weapons.

Hmmm, I didnt know that.

As a helo gunner I spam the Q and R button almost constantly to spot and reload when using the main cannon, I spot people all over the map that way.

Hit ~ in game to bring up the console and type render.drawfps 1 to show your in game frame rates.

getting about 48-54 fps

thats after I lowered everything that zargon posted. didn't try it with max settings.

still extremely difficult to see enemies and always getting shot from nowhere/behind.

well i had some fun that game.

1st thing I noticed was that if I switched from full auto to semi auto, i was much better at killing people. got the red dot for the engineer rifle too which did help some.

got in a tank with a good driver and we racked up a bunch of kills.
then got in AA vehicle and was taking out the jets and helos left and right.

IIRC the rule is you can only press spot once per second (pushing it faster than that has no effect) and if you mash too much over a short time your spot ability is disabled for a few seconds.
