I'm glad people are all fired up about the DLC, but if Dice can get around to it I'd like to hear people moving and firing weapons behind me, and I'd like to not get stuck on ankle-height obstructions when moving, among other things.

Agreed. I don't really see them changing it much though. Just be sure to run out in the open, flat areas. You'll be fine.

(To be fair I don't think I've played a FPS where I don't think 'Why the eff did that little obstacle stop me??' or swear at the movement mechanics)

I do hear guns firing behind me but definitely not always the footsteps

Footstep sounds are definitely better since the last patch but still not up to par with other FPS's IMO.

Happened to me a bunch of times yesterday... and sometimes it puts me into single player campaign mode instead of online multiplayer server I was suppose to enter...😵

I have heard that there is a movement to ban Premium users. It may be harsh and excessive, but EA is the prime-mover to blame here for using the Server Premium Queue as a scumbag sales tactic. If they'd just left it at prepaid DLC and a bunch of minor extras and called it a day, this wouldn't be happening.

Not really. Douchebag move by server admins; Prime is still < server selected queue priorities (so server supporters or whatever they're called). Other than that, the largest queue I've seen is 12 people; cry me a freaking river.

On the flip side, I'm seeing a huge proportion of users as now being Premiums, so I think that speaks volumes as to DICE actually providing something of value. Would I prefer to have had it for free? Sure, and I'd also love to have a bottle of Jameson magically pop into my hand and for my wife to actually follow through on her offer of a threesome with that drop-dead sexy friend of hers, don't mean the former's gonna happen (the latter though...:awe🙂.

I'm not saying it's not a good value. DLC should not be free(though Day 1 DLC is the opposite extreme), I've never said it should be, and this is a great value. The controversy is all about the scum marketing tactic.

As for "Prime is still < server selected queue priorities", not being a server owner I don't know, but what people say is that there is no way to priority queue your own clan members?

Pending clarification on that, though, I've seen a queue last 30 minutes for just like, 3 or 4 people. How many are queuing isn't the important number sometimes, it's how many are leaving between rounds.

If I paid for a server and was not interested in getting the DLC, I sure as hell would not want to be kicked (or my friends/clan mates I got the server for) when someone with the DLC came along.

for the short term, It will be this way. If more get the DLC it might change. But then what do you expect when EA do not pay for and host all the servers themselves? With different people in charge with different objectives, clashing of opinions will happen.

I support this movement. This "service" is extremely scummy. I also absolutely hate all the "THIS PLAYER IS PREMIUM" BS. BF2 DLC had NONE of this shit. Special Forces players didn't get a "This player is spec ops" Tag. Of course BF2 DLC was actually quite good unlike this POS.

A lot of the time, no. I've been killed from behind by nearby LAVs and all I could hear was the rounds hitting around me. I was just killed tonight by a chopper that was swooping down from above and behind, probably, oh, quarter mile away at most. I couldn't hear him at all. I can never hear people moving behind me. Last night I was killed by a guy who shot me from behind at close range and never heard his weapon fire. So happened that a few minutes later a guy came around a corner and killed me from close range in front, and I heard his weapon fire clear as a bell. It's really kind of annoying 🙂.

A question: I bought the ultimate shortcut pack when I bought the game during an Origin sale. I thought it included all the weapons and unlocks, and yet I keep unlocking weapons in the game. Is there any way I can tell whether I have that pack, or perhaps I'm confused about what it included.

I'm glad I'm not the only one feeling that way. Seeing the in your face "Premium Member" in gold, like, "I paid $100 for this game!"

It's not like it's a F2P game. People who paid full retail and have $59 into it only to find themselves second class citizens are, I think, entitled to feel pissed off about this. I bought it at half-price, but still, to pay for a retail game and then have them create a premium pay tier for weapons and server queues irks me. This isn't the Battlefield game I grew to love since BF:1942. Don't get me wrong, it's fun. But I don't like where they're taking it. Probably my last one.

I didnt realize there was a movement. I support the sentiment, but it doesnt go far enough. Ban the assignments as well. Make is that you get a ban if you are using any of the guns that you can get assignments with, and ban anyone who uses an assignment gun. Going for the assignments ruined my night once I was done with the assault rifle. SPAS-12 and M5K will probably be the only guns I'll use from this pack. All this BS to unlock shit I paid for. I dont like playing like an ahole by spamming noob tubes, grenades, C4 kills, etc.

The ultimate pack unlocked the class specific weapons, not the ones you get as you level up. Enjoy those, they'll stop once you make colonel 🙁 lol

I didn't realize THOSE were the assignments...

I like getting kills using those things when it's necessary...DICE encouraging them to be spammed is only going to encourage more servers to ban them, which seems to be against the ROE but has never been enforced(certainly not enough that I'd ever heard of it).
