I gave up flying a jet. I just can't get a hang of how unsmooth it is. Yet i see a guy who can kill infantry with ease because he ran out of tanks. lol

Did not all the servers update to the newest patch... ? I dont have as many as I used to, hard to find a game with the maps I like.

I'm sorry, but this doesn't seem like a game issue. What troubleshooting have you performed? Have you checked the crashdump file?

I think I've narrowed the issue down to the fact that I'm using a Sapphire graphics card. Apparently there's an issue with the non-reference 5870s being used with all of the regular drivers that's causing the crashes.

they have mentioned looking into overhauling VOIP, but I am guessing its a no, atleast till summer they way dice has been moving lately

they were patching strong into late december, early jan, then we got nada from them......news of the last patch and the jan 25th patch were almost NILL till it happened

Ramblings on the next big patch from this thread...

twitter.com/gustavhalling: "I have tweaked the Havok for the next big patch already but you have to wait a little more."

(Gustav took over Demize99's position as Gameplay Designer/tweaker for BF3)

This guy has two twitch.tv videos up. The first one, he couldnt get alt tab working and black screened for 5 minutes. The next video he camps the stairway and uses an RPG...and yet still gets owned. If these types of players are the designers of the game, it explains a lot.

hmmm...at some point we're going to hit that magical wall beyond which only urgent fixes can be expected...

You know, I'm thinking that when BC3 or BF4's development is announced, or maybe even MoH, remember how they constantly had interviewers asking them about prone being back? I think this might be what they focus on in pre MoH2/BC3/BF4 interviews: "Yes, that's right folks, in-game VOIP is back, we listened to the community".

dunno.,

they did a few big patches for BF2 and 2142 later, unlocking all the paid DLC for everyone, updating it for better results on newer OS's ETC

Installing a retail copy is not fun...and I can already tell Origin is gonna be a huge pain in the ass

It isn't that bad,but once your retail dvd has been installed once through origin, the next time you ever need to install it,just download origin and it will be ready to download, basically making the dvd useless.

Why stores can't sell dvd keys at this point you just register with origin to download is beyond, the dvds end up being trash anyways and nothing but waste.

Hardly, especially if you lived somewhere with a crappy internet connection.

Origin holds the same spot as Steam, it's another digital distribution service that I have automatically start up with Windows. It's really not a big deal, and I lol at the amount of bitchin and moanin everyone is giving it.

Set it and forget it, 'nuff said.

Been trying to get to my 100th resupply medal i am at 82 and the last 2 rounds i got 23 and 22 resupply ribbons respectfully but it counted 20 and 17 on battlelog so not sure what the story is there, usually its ricky tick and on the dime.

you need to go to one of the high ticket metro only meat grinder maps. I think i got 80 resupplies one round.

Is origin the only way to launch the game? Everything through this web browser?

You can bookmark Battlelog in your web browser then go directly to the server browser and launch from there, Origin will log you in and do its thing on the first game. At least thats how I do it.

For those who have had no problems with Origin or Steam then bully for you, others have had a ton of issues. Like I stated earlier, not everyone lives where they have access to reliable high bandwith connections which are required for both Origin and Steam to work properly. I know this because I travel a lot and have had the opportunity to see both sides first hand.

Ive had about 1 issue with origin so far, and it was the first bf3 patch

^ That and the problem of Origin failing to launch that seems to occur for an hour or so every couple of weeks.

From the dozens of so people each game on dialup i don't think that is the problem.

The problem is people with dialup/terrible connections in general buying games that require broadband only and thinking "it will work fine" attitude.
