It will be interesting how the G53 fairs. I've only used it for a bit, but its pretty damn good.

I'm pretty sure it is almost identical to the M4/G36.

I'm off to try the K2002. I never used it before but apparently it has unusually low vertical recoil.

G53 seems better. It also comes with a 12x scope, which I took off. But at longer distances it seems better. Also seems to kill quicker up close.

I used the KH2002 for the first time the other day...its pretty good if you like burst fire.
 
KH2002 is probably the best assault rifle in the game. Just don't get to trigger at close range or you will jam the gun. look at my stats with it vs. others - gonz0z

My first eperience playing wake island in B2K was HORRIBLE. 64 Player, 1000tickets, instant vehicle respawn. I pretty much play assault/engi/support only. And like to rush into the battle. By about 200 tickets in the map was completely flattened, all that was left was brown craters everywhere and ZERO cover other than the occasional rock. It was a slaughter, every time you would take a tank down, another 2 would roll in. Chopper was crushing everyone, this map is a chopper gunners paradise, everyone gets funneled on a thin strip of land with only very few cover positions. Just bombard 30 rounds at the ground near rocks, rinse and repeat.

Once I switched servers. Wow, so much fun, on Karkand we had a group of probably 10 of us rolling through objectives, we called it a ball of death. None of us were on comms it jus happened organically.

In case no one has seen this yet, here is data (and plots!) showing all the weapon recoil patterns (and visual proof to as why the AS-VAL is the best gun in the game by far at the moment).

I always suspected the AS-VAL's recoil was so low it must be bugged. It's basically as accurate as a sniper rifle but with 900 RPM. Too bad it looks like it will be nerfed in the next patch.

Since the F2000 was nerfed last patch, the M16 is currently the best assault rifle. Engineer carbines are pretty much a toss up, with the M4 or G36 being good choices.

wow lots of time wasted on just looking through all that. I didn't see anywhere what the range was for the spread.

I use full auto hip fire only at point blank, < 5 m. I sometimes use hip fire in bursts if someone surprises me at closer range. Otherwise, all aimed fire.

well your mistake is holding the RMB since LMB is to shoot 😛

Other than if someone surprises me or is within 5m, I'll burst. Out to about 30m, 3 or 4 bursts seem to drop someone.

I go full auto at about 30m or less, even after they supposedly patched burst fire to be better. If they are past that, I'm teaching myself to just close the distance or move onto another target. My accuracy numbers aren't the best, but I dont lose too many short to mid range fire fights 1v1. It also depends on the gun, but maybe aiming for center mass and letting the recoil go towards the head might help.

This is assuming you are aiming down sights, and using the standard LMB - fire RMB - zoom. Holding RMB without actually firing any bullets wont help you! :biggrin:

What everyone else said, but so much of it depends on the gun you're using too and how well you can use recoil. I bursted a lot more with the M416 than I do now with the AEK.


I notice that the green plots are not a single dot. Does this mean the game does in fact have random deviation? I also do not understand how the mathematical concept of solid angle pertains to the spread charts despite reading the wikipedia. :awe:

Im liking it, seems to bring people down quicker at longer ranges than the rest of the carbines. Im sure they'll nerf it, now that I said that. God forbid one weapon have even the slightest advantage over another. 🙄

I'm waiting for the hammer to drop on the F2000 and FAMAS. Those absolutely wreck at short range and get bitched about a lot, but they're really pretty shitty at longer ranges. Bad pubbies probably see these things wrecking them on maps like Bazaar and Metro and start going FFFFUUUUUUUUUUU. The AEK wrecks face at medium to medium-short range, and I can pick people all day with the M416. I've not really seen any glaring weapon imbalances. I hope DICE keeps a soft hand with balance changes and doesn't listen to noisy Battleog forum shitties with 10 hours played and .4 KDR.

With the exception of light machine guns, I almost always put suppressors on guns.

Assault Rifles: Full-auto against targets that I know I can kill. Burst fire only against exposed/suppressed enemies. Semi-auto against snipers.

SMGs/Carbines/PDWs: Never use burst/semi-auto. Only engage targets that you know you can kill.

LMGs: Use a bipod and dig in. Most baddies think the red 'blip' on their radar is an easy kill out in the open. Automatic fire keeps enemies suppressed and racks up kills.

Unfortunately those guys are the ones that pay the bills. People with 60+ hours and 1.0+ KDRs are going to play regardless...
 
Frankly it's bad enough this game is hard to balance with the pubby vs. organized squad aspect, the map design real BF map (kharg, firestorm, nosehair) vs. cqb (metro, bazaar) aspect, and now the BF3 map design vs. classic BF (B2K) map design aspect. Don't need a bunch of shitties in the mix messing it up even more.

And on that note, if the B2K maps don't clearly demonstrate my claim that engies get too much RPG ammo I don't know what ever will. They should get 3-4 RPGs stock and 5-6 with the perk. I know Karkand is a slaughterfest for the assaulting armor assets and that they are supposed to move in slowly behind infantry and support them, but the overuse of engies in BF3 just makes it too over the top.

What is battle-bus everyone keeps referring to?

Edit: Oh... Blackhawk? Do you guys ride Javelins on the repair seat engineers? That's how we do it with my friends and it's pretty hilarious. Don't forget to have one of the gunners medic and one support and stick your resupply kits to the inside of the chopper for maximum survivability and damage output. Of course, rather than playing battlebus now we prefer sitting in tanks with guided shell and CITV and shooting down battlebuses. 😀

I'm finding entire buildings that disappear and re-appear depending on a few steps (at close range, not a draw distance issue). For instance the wall and 3 story building on the other side of the road of Construction on Kharg flickers in and out of existance as I cross the street between C and D. One second it's there, then it's gone then it's back as cross the street.

I also started playing with the FSAA injector so I'm not really sure if it's a patch thing, or injector thing..

last night i started getting some artifacting for the first time. what i'm sure of is vehicles get stuck on anything starting with this patch.

I got the same thing in the same location. But mine was even more than the wall and 3-story building. A layer of the ground / shrubs was drawing in and out as I was in that location. Really weird. Happened about a week ago though and this is the only time and location it's happened.

I'm partial to the M416 and of course, I meant LMB. I always aim down sight except for when I get surprised by someone turning a corner or something.

I guess I just need to keep playing, playing, and then play some more.
 
im getting really tired of the game fing up squads when joining games

have 3 people in our squad, join a sqd death match, puts everyone on different teams
 
thats definitely the optimal map rotation IMO for conquest


there is just something WRONG with wake. like with the toys we have in BF3 like the soflam and improved draw distance it just doesn't work.

maybe if they ditch attack helos for scouts it would be better too


and again I say, the F35 is worthless a dogfighter

I agree...when I fly the F35 it feels like I'm flying a SNAIL!😵 I get taken out by Helos easily!

Any tips on earning points to up my "Air Helicopter Attack" points? I'm mostly flying the Venom, and earning 10 points for every kill assist my door gunners is pretty tedious...

Try hoping on as a gunner with one of the better ATOT pilots will allow you to rack up massive kills and points - (Childs) stole my gunner seat one time at the start of the server map and went on a 24+ kill rampage one time!! :colbert: I didn't know at first because he was racking up kills and I was searching all over the map looking for him in case he needed my help -turned out he was sitting safe and tight in the helo gunner seat mowing down everyone and he was the reason why I didn't spawn on the helo gunner seat at round start!:'(

Well, thats usually because one side ends up with 3-4x more colonels than the other side. A lot of people are cheap like that. Wake is kinda fun when you are steam rolling the other side with air superiority, but otherwise its kinda meh. I'm not sure its anything new, as I've never understood the popularity of this map.

I've been in rush maps where the teams had more colonels and still lost because they were just more interested in their stats padding than helping with objectives that can hurt the K/D ratio...:colbert:

I've been using it since I got it - and its pretty damn accurate at range, low recoil and high RPM... haven't used any other engineer weapon since... it looks and reminds me of the MP5 from counterstrike 😛
