Just to set the record straight, the temporary immunity in Bad Company ended if the spawner shot their gun. It wasn't a free ride for the spawner.

I would rather they bring that back than keep the black screen.

Anyone else died to "bad luck"? What does that mean? Did my guy have a heart attack or what... what killed me?!

Also how does teamkill happen? I killed one of my own team yesterday when i was in a tank, i was surrounded by smoke and 10 seconds away from death i have no idea how i killed the guy on my own team lol... Im pretty sure team damage was off.

I would agree, except that there's no indication that the player that just spawned is invulnerable. So, as an attacking flanker, I would empty an entire clip into the invuln player, THEN realize that he's invuln, and be reloading when he decides that oh, he should shoot now while I'm reloading.

That was the bane of my existence in BC2.

I think the black screen with no invulnerability is the best solution for this particular game. For BC2 where it's a bit faster paced, I would say that black screen WITH invulnerability would be appropriate.

Yes...it only adds to my BF3 woes! Thought it was a suicide, but sometimes it happens when I'm just standing there. Perhaps it's a mortar or debris falling on me? In BC2 the latter would be called death by "Destruction 2.0".

I got that yesterday on Tugboat by jumping over a 3 ft barrier at the beginning of a round, so no one was around. Its happened to me maybe 3-5 times. Usually I'm running somewhere and it happens. In the beta I was running and all of a sudden I was shot forward and died. Some weird physics edge case.

Is anyone else finding that vehicle disabling doesn't really balance vehicles that much, it just makes playing vehicles less fun/more frustrating? Yes, I know you can eliminate that to an extent by having a team of engineers up your tank's ass but that shouldn't be quite so mandatory. Maybe the vehicle disabling should just slow armor by 50%, for example, instead of more like slow them to 5% of their original speed.

yeah but it sucked to UNLOAD on a group, only to haver to reload due them being invincible and getting shot while reloading because they waited. its better than pure 1 second of superman but def still flawed

had more than few bad luck deaths, I thnk its for 'suicide not by your stupid wepons handling)

forget to open chute, droptoo far fro the building ETC. few destruction 2.0 kills i got 'bad luck' for too

ahole run into my jet playing chicken....bad luck

Try jumping into the river from the bridge in Seine Crossing, you just die. LOL. Also, if you jump load onto the transport boat from the wrong angle, it explodes on you. They really need to fix this shit.

I had a fun instance the other day when my plane was disabled so I bailed, but somehow I got sling shotted out of the cockpit and flew across the map, lol. Conveniently enough I came down on a capture point so it worked out great!

Also blew up a dude with the 40mm grenade and watched his body fling like 200m back towards my direction. Did one of those physics ragdoll cartwheel things, kinda funny.

Heh yeah the physics are a bit mad sometimes. I stood in front of a tank and had it push me from the start all the way to the first capture point, all the vehicles were taken so this went well :awe:

I got TK'ed by a friendly chopper rocketing the building I was in and the roof fell on my head.

I'm not sure what causes Bad luck vs. suicide. I think it's when you get run over by an unoccupied vehicle like if a friendly exits a jeep at high speed and the jeep gets you. Or you try to jump out of a chopper and smash into the tail or hit a structure. Or a unoccupied flaming tank explodes next to you.

I wish they would silently fix negative acceleration. I refuse to unlock anything for snipers until they fix it.

What does this mean? jumpiness with the scopes?

My deal with the sniper class is I wish they would have to mouse sensitivity settings (Similar to RO2)

a normal sensitivity an 'sites' / zoom / scoped sensitivity that were independent of each other.

would make it so much nicer to configure.

I don't even know what negative mouse acceleration is, but I keep hearing people complain about it. This have to do with a mouse input setting? Because I've just used 'raw input' or whatever since beta.

If you are using an IR Scope or any other Scope with over 4x Zoom you have to hold shift key to steady your aiming - your soldier holds his breath for a few seconds then the AIM is steady, but then he releases his breath to breath then the AIM gets all bouncy again. Its similar to MOH...

I think this is what it is too... I've gotten it a few times trying to bail out of a jet upside down, probably not the best idea in the first place.

Well I've come to the conclusion that once you are behind the rank/unlock curve in this game you are really doomed.. (unless there is a newbie server out there somewhere)

now that everyone has ranked up all their abilities unless you have the counters you are cannon fodder which kinda sucks.
Heh, I sort of feel this way about the kits I haven't leveled up.

no ability should be game changing or unbalancing in games like this but unfortunately they are by design in this game.

I am finding myself instantly destroyed in any vehicle especially if you are rank 1 in that vehicle as well as even on the infantry maps people with the advanced weps and scopes just rampaging the newer lower ranked players..

Too bad because its very frustrating and even though I excel as a medic if it comes to a gunfight I'm dead meat. especially with the top tier unlocks.

love the game.. but am finding myself super frustrated now.

Not being able to put a lot of time in the game so far, I feel your pain. The game is not forgiving to new/lower ranked players.

Back in the BF2 days, the only unlocks were guns that weren't any better than the stock weapons. It was easy to start a new character and still do as well against higher ranked players.

Yes, kind of annoying until you get a bipod and then it no longer is an issue when deployed. :awe:

While we are at it, what's the longest headshot people have gotten (in your battlelog profile if you dont remember). I finally got a 423m the other day, which took me FOREVER due to lag, bullet drop and travel time, and very thin margins when sniping like that. I was shooing at zargon for awhile cause he was prone and not moving, but he got lucky as I just couldn't get it within that 1cm on the reticule. :p

the stock weapons are pretty decent

everyone uses the unlocks though, probably because the basic guns are limited ot each side till you unlock them as the last 2 unlocks in the class

so unlocking shit for hte m16a3 sucks because you cant use it as a russian till you max out assault class

See, yesterday I accidentally jumped into the river from the bridge and thought to myself that I was gonna die. And then I didn't! Random...

Twice, I have ejected out of my jet flying straight forward at high speed, and i some how end up in front of the still-barreling-forward jet, and get run over by my own jet I've ejected out of.

This is correct. You can't run drive over a teammate to kill them but if you bail out before it runs them over they'll die.

One thing that really annoys me are the teammates that can't stop shining the tactical light in your face.

I TOTALLY agree here...

I was off for about 3-4 days from the game with other stuff...

I am not sure what super ability people have unlocked but I about SHAT myself last night when I was on a air vehicle map and I am an engineer...

I pull out the heat seeker dig into a nice hiding spot and start to target a chopper...who as far as I can tell would have NEVER known where I was...

I start to lock on (beep-beep-beep)...in an instant...the front gun swings over to my position and I get blown to hell...

I sat there dead thinking 'HOW IN THE HELL' did they know where I was...I had a good hiding spot...the guy was looking the other direction at the time.

I can only think that he had some unlock for the chopper that alerted of the source of the targeting

It was at about that time I felt like this guy...

Same goes for guys that were sniping with some pretty wicked looking rifles...all at level 25 and above...

As far as I can tell the bipod and the hand grip help a ton with these...the Bipod while kind of a PITA for moving and setting up is awesome IMO once deployed...

I hate how I cannot modify my mouse sensitivity on the fly with my MX 518 mouse...I don't want to have to try to go into properties every time I am wanting to adjust it...

My mouse up and down sensitivity buttons have no effect...

What mice does everyone else use that has a high DPI that is adjustable on the fly?

Well a) bc2 had HORRIBLE mouse input settings. You could be fast on the ground and slow as dirt in a vehicle. This required either editing the text files manually or using an alternative program to set this stuff.

b) pretty sure it's suppose to be 'sluggish' because your characters have 'weight' now. Notice when on the ground you can't spin around as your character is physically moving on the ground. It's not suppose to be as twitching as you could make it in bc2. Personally I've not found a problem with the speed, nor do I see any reason why it would be a problem in a sniper scope.

BC2 had fine mouse mechanics. Did not need to edit anything. The only mouse problem was related to getting in tanks, but that was fixed with a patch long time ago.

thanks Honda I havent tried that yet.. usually just play BF for Conquest mode.

I'll see if I fair any better there I guess.

Conquest mode is my favorite too, but too much of a disadvantage when everyone has way better kits. Report back - curious to see if you agree that points are easier in TDM.

I think it's IR scope. I don't have it, but I was getting owned by people yesterday within seconds of spawning, and from incredibly long range. From the moment I saw that was an option in the BF3 trailers, I was worried. While BF2 Special Forces had something similar (night vision), everyone was equipped with it, and the "batteries" would run out, so you couldn't just use it all the time.

I just upgraded to a G9x and DPI works, but my G5's on-the-fly DPI adjustment buttons had been working fine as well (the back button, on the other hand, would not register). Is this the only game the MX518 doesn't work in? Do you have the latest drivers?
