Meh, I like the 1 hit sniper kill at close range. If you that think is super easy or a 'crutch' then I invite you to come join me in some sniper RDS'ing and find out for yourself. Pistols take time to switch to, and then you have to dump a fair number of rounds.
I think it's funny that this has become 'well we dont want recon sitting off 'camping' and sniping, but lets not give them the ability to run around with the rest either' o_0. With a bolt action I see no issues why it can't be 1 shot kill considering if you miss that other guy WILL get you before you reload if he is aiming decently 95% of the time.

Well, they should.............but I get what you guys are saying about realism vs a fun for the masses game. Ill play and will probably enjoy whatever they give us, but will undoubtedly curse each time I hit someone with a Barrett and they keep moving. :biggrin:

The recon campers don't get it, we want them to stop sniping and pick other classes appropriate to the task, not for them to have 1 hit kills so they can snipe at close range. You always have the ability to run around with the rest, that's by picking the correct class. If sniper rifles get 1 hit kills, assault rifles need 2 hit kills.
Also, camping is a completely valid tactic, the ONLY problem with it is that camping doesn't cap flags.
Peeps with Saiga's blast me from what I feel is too far quite a bit. I have no clue what kind of rounds they are using, Im too angry after it happens to see straight. LOL

Ah - well, to be fair, shotgun herp-derping isn't any better than sniper 1 hit kills. Especially 40mm shotguns. Press Fire to Win.
I agree totally with the first statement. However, while camping snipers may not cap flags they can be devastating defenders. Camping snipers need those one shot kills, as someone else stated "to make you think twice before running into the open".

I think the 40mm shotty is fairly balanced because of the huge reload time and short range.

They're just nerfing sniping like they did in black ops. Just means you have to mix it up more.
1 hit kills wouldn't work for the casual gamers. Most people that play HC mode hate the fact that most of the time you're getting killed from someone you can't even see. 1 hit kills are easy as recon.

It's frustrating at times when you hit someone and they just keep running but I can see how people would get frustrated if they're just getting 1 hit killed all the time also. Balance isn't a bad thing. This is why so many noobs ragequit in CS when they're getting awped left and right. Then you lose a potential player.

again to be fair, we need recoil that prevents A/R tapfire sniping. BC2 autoresets recoil so long as you fire in single shots, so greatly so that even tapfiring as fast as you can means all shots will go virtually the same place. They need to fix that, too.
BFBC2 was my first BF game and I hated it at first because of the ungodly amount of rounds it took to kill someone and the fact that if one guy spots you the entire enemy team will light you up like the Fourth of July! Even when you are behind cover and they cant see anything but that damn orange triangle.
Thankfully Hardcore solves most of this. One shot kills, no wallhack spotting, no kill or deathcam, no magical crosshairs, and if your idiot teammate shoots you or lobs a grenade into your lap, it hurts!
The other things that really bugged me about BC2 were: I couldnt strafe, go prone, or lean. I thought to myself "How can a modern FPS not have the ability to strafe!". I have adjusted to it but that should not have to be the case. Blast you Dice, let me strafe!
That was the first thing I noticed when playing the BF3 alpha, the player movements that included the ability to strafe and go prone. It was so smooth and fluid and..... dare I say it? "Call of Duty like".

Yeah, which is totally useless. I find it extremely odd that you are a super soldier who can sprint forever but cant look in any direction other than straight ahead while running. :hmm:
go ahead and run full sprint ahead and try to also side step
implementing free look while running would cause utter confusion for 90% of players that undoubtibly couldnt handle it
If and when I ever get the real life ability to sprint forever without tiring, I will. :biggrin:
The main point is that in BF3 it appears that huge flaw is fixed. YAY!
I hope sprints last a long time in the final game.Although not totally realistic,they are supposed to be well conditioned troops,i would hope. That brings up a question for the beta players.What did "running"feel like?I always felt like in bfbc2 i was waddling from side to side like they were overcompensating with a poor attempt to mimic running.It literally made me nautious after awhile.Fire up bf2,then bfbc2 and you will see the difference. Could be a moot point for some,but with the even larger maps and predictions of some lamers whipping by without a lift,it matters to me.🙂

BF2 was absolutely terrible for running. Run 20 yards and you're exhausted. Unlimited run is definitely an improvement.
Beta will be here soon. The alpha had unlimited run, the ability to strafe, and cool animations when you jumped over an object. I know what you mean by "waddling" when running and I believe that was still present but to a lesser degree. I didnt get into the alpha till late, I only got to play with it a couple of days. 🙁
Over all the player movements and controls felt really fluid and greatly improved from BC2, which I think feel floaty and clunky.

Looking at the jet and chopper views, that definitely looks like a true BF successor.
One funny thing though, the guy says "we now offer facade destruction" as if that were an increase. Once release hits, we will see that that's not more destruction, that just means you can blow bricks off big buildings but the big building frames won't collapse. BC2 buildings had, more or less, facade destruction but you could collapse most buildings completely as well.
And I don't disagree with it, if that's what they're doing, I just don't see why they are trying to pass it off the way they are when they talk about it.

That's interesting... he mentioned vehicle stances as in tanks switching between shells/coax and planes air-air/air-ground. Claim balance all you want but we all know it's due to the limited number of buttons on a controller. ^___^ I do wonder if this means though that we will actually have more universal functions available to vehicles without having to spec into them as upgrades for basic stuff like coax mgs and smoke.
