"Not far off guys, I'm impressed. There's one BIG thing you're missing though, I think you'll be pumped when the surprise is revealed.

And no, I won't tell you if you figure it out! I gotta Troll somehow! "

When he said that he was posting in the Tank CITV thread. I didn't see anything in the trailer, except what appeared to be the view of a tank(possibly a chopper).

Maybe the tank that got blown up in front was hit by a lased missile or mortar shell? No idea.

I can't get my gun club coupon to work, did it finally stop working? I also had a rep call me but he wasn't willing to help me out on it. I'd do a chat and try that but their site seems to be broken for me.

I think it was minmaster that threw out that he heard that 25% off coupon no longer worked on pre-orders after July 31st.
I have seen on other forums where a lot of people had success getting a replacement 20% off coupon by complaining on EA chat. If one rep doesn't help, they keep trying until they get a sympathetic one. I'll try to dig out a reference later.

My birthday comes up before BF3 releases, I'll wait to see if I get a birthday code. If not it's a last minute pre-order for me. But I will definitely preorder now that a real BF3 has been confirmed (commo rose and fixed 3d spotting).

Registered to the EA Gun club and they sent me the coupon the next day. However, the coupon will only work on select games. I called them and they told me that the coupon is misleading and they emailed me a promo code to use for free game download (Dead Space 2, BC2 or Mass Effect 2).

BTW did any of you have any other guesses about what Demize was talking about that we missed in the video?

I was browsing that thread last night. They were focusing on the next scene AFTER the EOD bot hit the wall, in which a US tank is blown up, and this seems to be viewed from a UAV.

I thought the best guesses were either evidence on screen of Battlerecorder (it says REC FEED or something in red), or the fact that when the US tank blew up, three soldiers were killed. There was a link by one of the users to a previous thread about a third "spotter" being in tanks. That gets my vote for "what we missed".

A bit of information about battlelog and joining servers:

@Demize99 @Quaxi_ I noticed that when joining a server, battlelog reserves you a slot so it doesn't really matter how fast launch is, right?
dyndragon 17 mins

@dyndragon well, currently you've got 2 minutes, but that should be enough 🙂 @demize99 @quaxi_

@jbripley @demize99 @quaxi_ That's great! Does that give you a hold a window for you to reconnect in case you crash or something?

@dyndragon the web will hold your reservation until you've reached the spawn screen, but the 2 min timeout still holds

@jbripley right, but I mean let's say you're happily playing, but mid-round you crash. Is a slot held for you in case of a dirty disconnect

@dyndragon no, you'll need to make a new reservation. Reservation is consumed when you join the server, after that it's gone.

@jbripley Consider that a feature request? ;-) its a pain when all your buds are finally together, one crashes, reconnects on opposite team.

@dyndragon "Join a friend" should solve that in most cases, if the server isn't very full or un-balanced.

So, Battlelog is it. A previous tweet from someone DICE officially confirmed that Battlelog is IT for the game UI. There is only Battlelog as the game's front-end, and the actual game engine itself.

anyone else who ordered at D2D while back pissed we're not getting any extra stuff?

Not too bothered. It was a good price. I can earn most of the pre-order bonus items over time. Except the spec-act kits. That's why I thought that was the best pre-order bonus.

My attitude could change if I don't get in the BF3 beta early for pre-ordering MOH. I still never got an e-mail from them acknowledging this.

Yeah I read a tweet saying you have to use battlelog because there is no server browser in game. I'm a bit skeptical as to how fast BF3 actually loads up considering it was claimed to do so really quickly. :hmm:

Same here. Specact kit is the only one I feel like I'd be missing out on. Maybe the extra dog tags also.

FYI but you guys can get cashback from d2d (5%)/ea store (6%) through mrrebates.

It could have been those, also someone pointed out that their killer was "LAZA" or something like that. I was thinking that what really happened in that video was a mortar strike or bomb strike achieved by laser designation...

There should still be an in-game interface for changing video options, controller mapping, etc. There was a rudimentary one in the Alpha.

Having squad based laser guidance would be really awesome...the more teamwork the better. I also liked Gully's insight on a potential third person in the tank - this is both more realistic and would allow for an engineer to ride along and hop out when necessary, while leaving all guns manned. This makes a ton of sense given the new damage system that immobilizes the tank but allows guns to continue firing.

I have an i7 930, GTX 570. It loaded plenty fast--faster than BC2 loads for me.

Spam DICE with requests to have an offline option editor, like Bioware's Dragon Age config utility ;-)

Or the 3rd person could be engineer and fix the tank from the inside and not have to worry about getting sniped.

I think what that scene might actually have shown was that there were 3 people in the tank, and there was a lase-spotted attack, AND that the lasing might have been done by the 3rd player station. Eh, probably not, but that would be interesting.

Hope not, that would be like Blackhawk hover fixing, just on the ground.
