I find it to be the other way around. I'm a much better ground pounder in BF2. It took less hits to kill in BF2. I could take out a whole squad with a single clip. In BC2, it takes 1-2 additional hits to kill forcing me to change clips more often.

I am more talking about the ability for other players to kill you in BC2 vs BF2. You can run right by and right into a group of average players in BF2 and survive. Your going to have a hell of a time taking out an entire squad with one clip in BF2 due to hit reg and deviation. Now close range single shot with something like ak101 vs stationary targets sure. But most of the time that isn't going to happen.

But then again how the hit reg is in BF2 sometimes it takes an entire clip to half kill someone who is afk lol.

Did anyone else notice the limited range of aim while prone?

Goodbye prone to own. Your body is actually governed by physics when laying down now.

the second trailer is lame.. too short and shows 3 seconds of action.. the carl gustav is alright and of course the destruction of the building.. but come on.. I was expecting more combat oriented trailer..

That sniper sucks.

The rocket shot perfectly straight though. Was it guided? Or are we going to have engineers-as-snipers again?

Here's the second episode of gameplay:

Faultline Episode 2: Good Effect on Target

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SLf3bV0Ueyw&feature=player_embedded

MAJOR discussion about this over on EA UK BF3 forum. Apparently sniper shots that land nearby blur your screen, and Demize tweeted that this was a suppression effect. He refused to say more, saying that suppression couldn't be explained in 140 tweet characters and that we'd have to wait.

So we don't know if only sniper rifles do it, or if all weapons do it.

interesting... yea we'll have to see about that but if they include that for heavy weapons (rpgs, snipers etc.), it'll be a welcome addition to detail...

However, I found the sound sorely lacking in this trailer. At one point, the guy says of the sniper's weapon, "It's a fucking 50!" That shit sounded like a water-gun from Toys R' Us. I dunno if you guys have shot guns but a .50 is one loud somoma bitch..

Seems unlikely that some Iraqi insurgents or whatever the hell they are would be using a .50 too. Trailer disappoints.

i'd rather play a game that flushes out the 'chase' than pounding me with as many explosions per minute as possible.

Anyone else notice that the shots from that sniper are physically impossible until they are at the last bit of cover. Kinda silly and I can't believe the developers haven't noticed.

It's a video game. It's like complaining about a movie not being accurate. Plus this is a teaser to get you pumped for the game so they're going to do anything to make it look cooler.

Am I the only one annoyed by the fact that they seem to be focusing on single player? I have never ever played single player battlefield and I'm not sure I'm going to in bf3. I'd rather they took the time to make more maps and fix bugs for multiplayer.

I mean, I wouldn't mind if it was Valve or something, but the battlefield games aren't exactly known for being stable and bug free on release.

The only ever time I use single player in Battlefield is to like, test vehicles or ballistics offline using BF2's single player bots. But a singleplayer STORY game doesn't really facilitate doing that, does it? I tried to force myself to play through BC2's SP to see the ending, it's not fun though so I ended up just reading the ending on spoiler sites.

I'm with you. The BF fan base is going to spend 90% of their time in MP. Best to get that into an excellent state than spend effort on SP. Let those that want full featured SP go into COD or MoH. Not saying SP deserves not attention but it best not hurt MP.

The game that started the whole Battlefield franchise, BF1942, didn't even have a story line for single player. It was pretty much just multiplayer (conquest) against the computer... I can't remember if BF2 had a story line either, I don't think I played it if it did. I guess they feel they should include some type of story this time? People always complain when the story is really short, I don't remember anyone complaining that BF1942's story was pretty much non-existent...

As of right now I have 2600 hours in BF2 on my main account plus I would guess 400ish in mods, and maybe another 100 in secondary accounts. What is a 5 hour story campaign compared to that?

Agreed, I've never played 1942 or BF2 single player. Did BF2 even have a single player option when it launched?

The graphics in these latest vids are sick. If IW doesn't revamp the engine for this years CoD it's going to look like a giant turd compared to B3.

Activision has three studios working on MW3 since IW imploded. I don't have high hopes for that happening...and I really am waiting to see what they can cobble together. I'd be lying if I said I didn't have at least a little schadenfreude at the trainwreck I see rapidly approaching :sneaky:
