Man some maps flat out don't work for certain classes. Wake Island is prob the worse recon friendly map i've seen after metro. hehe Lucky they made up for it with Gulf of Omen.

I would like DICE to change the way skill is calculated in the game. When I was flying transport helicopters for a few days my skill rating dropped to the mid 200s mostly because I wasn't earning kills. Yet when I switched to flying jets my skill level has shot up to almost 600.

Yeah the skill rating is damn near useless overall, as it changes so fast. AFAIK it's weighted on the enemy skill that you kill or are killed by. The problem is that depending on your duty in the game, you may be performing near suicide missions on a losing team to try to help out, or you get mobbed by say 4-5 guys, and the guy who ends up finishing off your last 1% of health spams an RPG or whatever at you and the guy has a -217 kill rating, which ends up bringing you down massively in 'skill' rating.

So it's basically bullshit at this point.

When I try that, the Origin prompt pops up telling me my saved password is incorrect.

I tried resetting it, I got the email reset option in my inbox, reset the password to what I always use for it, and still the same message. Bleh.

Huh, maybe it didn't work as well as I thought it did. Won't let me buy B2K.

Hahah, I think EA is just having issues today, I just tried again and now I'm getting 'Origin could not be reached' error. Ah well.

On the battlelog server lists, I see almost 100% empty servers everywhere, so it appears to be a very widespread outage happening.

Yeah, when I logged into ea to buy the expansion, it said my name was "null". I have never used that name. I sent a password reset request but the e-mail still hasn't come through. Frustrating.

Yep... I got my 899 meter sniper headshot this morning... I spawned on the little island in front of the aircraft carrier saw a group of five members of the opposing team running in the middle of the big island... calculated lead aimming and calculated bullet drop... fired and got some poor unlucky bastard... I was using the recon class to unlock weapons...:whiste:

Your skill level goes up when you kill someone high rankings or the same ranking as you... your skill level goes down when you pick on noobs... So to make your skill ranking go up make sure you are killing more higher ranking people - for example most good jet pilots have high rankings and a noob would crash and burn before even getting into a dog fight while in helicopters (unless your killing tanks) your mowing down the noobs who don't know to run for cover when you hear a chopter... 😛

The new Vertical Take off jets are AWESOME - you literally can stop on the dime and hover... or when someone is on your six you can stop and they pass by you and you get on their six... only down side is that it seems to fly slow!!!😵

I'm home "sick" from work and just stuck watching the BF twitter account hoping they'll update with the news soon.

So far it's about 200 tweets asking for people to remain patient.

So you hit the brakes and he flew right by?

Yep... but you have to control the throttle similar to maintaining your elevation and start increasing it again to move forward otherwise you fall and crash (happened to me already)... kind of like a stop and go thingy.

I think I've seen such antics in a Bugs Bunny cartoon.

lol... I saw other players doing it but using that manuever to rain hell on troops and tanks before I had a chance to test it myself - when I first saw the jet in action I thought it looked like a War of the World scene with hovering UFOs attacking pedistrians.... one of the jets on the carrier actually takes off from a helipad...😵

Anyone experiencing massive frame rate drops when zooming in with scopes with AMD video cards, I found a fix.

In the Catalyst Control Center - disable "AMD Optimized Tessellation" and set it manually to 2x or off.

I have an AMD 6950 shader unlocked to 6970 and get 50-60 fps on ultra at 1920x1080. When zooming in I would get 24-30 fps and have extreme studdering. Turning tessellation down to 2x, my fps actually increases when zooming in.

I'll try to hop on for some btk action

I JUST reinstalled BF3 last night from my amazon download (10.2 gb download)...

once I get the key in and log into origin do I have to download anything else or should it identify that I have the LE and thus update with the new maps?

Thanks,

lee
